How you can help make a better world of work

People are at the heart of any business and our mission is to positively change the experience and the impact of over 100 million people at work. To achieve this, our product vision is to be the trusted source on what works to deliver a better employee experience based on insights from our unique and unparalleled data set, research and people science. With these insights, we partner with our customers to build a better world of work. We further believe that to really help workplaces be better, change must come from every person within, like a grassroots movement of better culture and people practices.

The People Science Experience (PSX) Director is key to bringing this vision to life. With our existing PSX Director stepping out on parental leave, a unique opportunity exists to lead the talented Product People Science (PSX) practice for 12 months. While this is a temporary cover, it is by no means just a ‘keep the lights on’ role. You’ll bring your unique strengths, leadership and perspective to build on the existing foundation and vision - further strengthening our scientific competitive advantage. As a change-maker, you’ll help drive a strategy for how our products and research come together to lead the employee experience category.

In this role, you’ll drive ensuring that our products and solutions are science backed, industry leading and have the optimal impact for our customers and their employees - some example problems you and PSX might take on are: What does progressive career pathing and true talent potential look like? How might we unlock manager behaviour change? And what is the best way to take action following employee feedback? You’ll have the chance to apply your strong people leadership experience coupled with practical expertise and scientific knowledge of people at work to lead a relatively small but high impact practice spanning people science, data analytics and research.

Ultimately, in this role you will have the ability to impact the overall experience of millions of employees at thousands of companies around the world!

What you’ll spend your time doing

  • You’ll collaborate with top notch Product leaders from Product Management, Design, UX, Data science and Analytics as well as the broader People Science leaders to create compelling experiences to change behaviour, provide meaningful insights and create better workplaces
  • You’ll be a change maker who contributes to the vision and strategy for how our products and research come together to lead the employee experience category
  • As a people mentor and coach, you’ll guide a team of People Scientists and researchers - supporting their decisions, honing their craft, and guiding their own development and progression.
  • Working across multiple Product Camps, you’ll ensure smooth cross-collaboration with PSX and that the most critical products have the required people science coverage and domain expertise.
  • You’ll advise on and drive a ‘practical science’ position - meaning that the people science approaches we recommend to product:
    • are sound (i.e grounded in research and psychological theory)
    • meet customers needs and expectations and,
    • lead the way in employee experience/people and culture approaches
  • Working with the practice on key employee experience problems. Examples in the first 6 months might be defining a progressive way for career pathing, reliable understanding of talent and, with our focus on managers, defining the ideal manager behaviours in performance development and the product moments where we can enable meaningful change (i.e. 1-on-1 conversations, giving feedback)
  •  You’ll also help define improvements in how we go to market with a people science based positioning
  • And you’ll ensure that our product’s position on employee experience in the market stands up to scrutiny by customers, community and industry experts - including the occasional representation of our perspective in the media

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalised folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
