JOB DESCRIPTION

Vertafore has an immediate need for a Director, Professional Services to lead our CMGA customer implementation practice. This position requires a business leader with proven management expertise, strong communication, facilitation and mediation skills with an extensive background in the software implementation space.

Reporting to a Vice President of Professional Services, the Director of Professional Services is responsible to build and sustain relationships with clients and prospects and develop and mentor team members. This role will establish credibility both internally and externally, deliver value, and play a signification leadership role in the next stage of the company's growth as well as will be an integral leader over multiple project teams and project managers, working to ensure successful implementations and high customer satisfaction by ensuring that the projects within the Director's purview are implemented on time and on budget.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide guidance on how to manage and execute the key deliverables in the projects under their direct control and maintain close co-operation with the company's Project Managers in terms of milestones, priorities, timescales, risks & issues.
  • Drive recommendations and make decisions in support of salary / promotion process and holds discussions as necessary for team members.
  • Drive the teamwork necessary to resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver high quality implementations and high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that associate(s) adhere to company's policies, procedures, methodologies and quality.
  • Interact with Product Management, Product Development and Customer Support organizations to support issue resolution.
  • Manage utilization for resources within area of responsibility (supply and demand matching). Ensures that resources are meeting the established utilization metrics and realization metrics.
  • Carries responsibility for achievement of revenue, expense and margin targets for projects under direct control.
  • Successfully run multiple accounts simultaneously, including managing work plans, client expectations, and internal staffing to ensure project is delivering to time and scope in the contract / Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Ensures accurate time reporting for team members.
  • Regularly updates projections and manages work to meet or exceed projected revenue targets.
  • Recommend ideas/actions to executive management that are designed to improved and streamline internal systems, procedures, and implementations.
  • Discuss implementation strategies with sales teams and prospects as requested.
  • Assists the Account Directors in ensuring client accounts are in good-health and drive programs for redirection for customers not in good-health.
  • Offer creative approaches for SOW pricing during the sales cycle.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly revenue, cost and margin forecasts and ensures project managers are following forecasting procedures.
  • Partners with the sales organization to ensure accurate proposal estimation and costing
  • Drives recruitment and pro-active people management strategies to ensure the retention and growth of key resources
  • Drive appropriate organizational change and team mentoring as required to ensure the successful market penetration of Vertafore products
  • Reviews the sales pipeline to ensure the organization has capacity to implement the forecasted projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of data processing systems, concepts, and methodologies
  • Oracle, SQL, NoSQL Database Architectures, Web Services
  • Stored Procedures
  • Scripting experience
  • ETL tools and processes
  • Data Warehousing

Qualifications:

  • Roughly 7 years proven leadership experience.
  • Experience working as a Project Manager, Consulting Manager, Engagement Manager, or similar management capacity in a professional services organization, within a SaaS environment.
  • Ability to recognize and develop creative approaches to conflict resolution without leadership intervention.
  • Fully understands all formats of revenue recognition rules for both Fixed Fee and Time and Material contracts.
  • Ability to recognize barriers for growth of our customer base and develop plans to break down those barriers and drive customer growth with minimal direction.
  • Ability to "think out of the box" to develop alternative approaches with minimal assistance.
  • Capable of facilitating design sessions, conflict resolutions, brainstorming, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor coach and train.
  • Comfortable and proficient at communicating from C-level to staff level.
  • Excellent communication, client relationship and analytical skills.
  • Well organized and consistently meets commitments.
  • Flexible and promotes a team environment.
  • Travel required (up to 30%).
  • Ability to adapt to new software / systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and also as part of a large team.
  • Extensive experience in the software industry
  • Managed multiple high volume and strategic programs, customer engagements and teams
  • Software implementation experience
  • Ability to manage complex information and rapidly structure and rationalize it
  • Strong attention to detail, well organized administratively
  • Clear, concise, comprehensive written/verbal communicator

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel required up to 30% of the time.
  • Located and working from an office location.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).
  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.
