Director, Program Management
Job Description
Bloom is seeking a Director, Program Management to manage large-scale, high profile technology programs that span across the company. The Director will work with executives and stakeholders to align on program goals, integrate timelines, identify risks, develop mitigations, and reliably execute key initiatives. The role will ensure the successful delivery of Bloom's core products from definition through design, development, new product introduction, manufacturing scale up, field service and installed base migration. It is a critical role with high visibility at the executive level. This position is based in our San Jose, CA HQ office.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide overall program management essential to ensure successful delivery of key programs to achieve Bloom Energy's business plan objectives.
- Own program schedule, budget, and ensure the product achieves agreed upon feature set.
- Work closely with highly technical product development, product management, project management, and operations teams on product definition, schedules, prioritizations, tradeoffs, etc.
- Consolidate disparate information for each program to enable prioritization and effective decision-making across programs
- Regularly present status, track budget, communicate high-level timelines, and manage risk and resource constraints across teams to ensure success.
- Guide team members through complete product lifecycle development; successfully hand-off a "manufacture ready" product to Operations and then a "sellable" product to Sales
- Accountable for establishing and meeting all schedule, budget, scope and KPIs.
- Accountable for program risks identification and developing mitigation strategies and actions.
- Accountable for establishing and meeting all cost, price, and profitability targets (P&L)
- Accountable for establishing and meeting product reliability, feature, and performance targets.
- Demonstrate an innovative and effective approach to constantly drive new product architecture, design and materials which lead to better cost, performance, reliability, and profitability of the product line.
Essential Qualifications:
- 12+ years technical program management experience with large complex products, experience in the energy sector a plus
- Proven track record driving programs throughout the complete product lifecycle process
- Experience setting up a structured project/program management process
- Extremely strong presence, ability to lead and manage cross functional and matrixed teams along with demonstrated ability to influence others
- Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
- Experience managing/working with engineering professionals
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Leadership ability to influence and drive technology decisions
- Strong desire for success and significance

- Excellent collaborator to work across internal Bloom organizations
- Strong analytical and financial skills. Able to build and manage budgets of large programs
- Ability to take complicated technical concepts and translate to a general audience in a compelling, succinct manner
- Person must have the ability to act independently and operate with a passion and appreciation for the vision and mission of the company
- Bachelor degree required in any of the following engineering, business management, economics, and technology, MBA and/or Doctorate is preferred.

$189,400.00 - $272,600.00
