Director, Program Management Operations

We’re looking to expand our team across the board.
We are seeking a Director of Program Management Operations to help build the York Program Management Organization. This position has both organizational and program management responsibilities. The Director will support the Vice President of Program Management in creating the processes and environment to foster outstanding program management in York’s unique commercial aerospace business model. This includes understanding customer agreements and needs, coordinating and collaborating with peer groups such as Supply Chain, Engineering and Production, and facilitating York team execution against schedule and cost commitments across York’s portfolio of government and commercial programs. Together with the VP of Program Management, the director will develop and scale efficient management processes to adapt to unique business conditions.
The Director may be assigned as Program Manager for one or more programs. In this direct program management role, the Director will be responsible for maintaining schedule, cost, and technical performance throughout each program in their portfolio. The Director will be expected to coordinate and prepare labor and materials estimates, manage to budget and business plans, and identify and appropriately address scope growth. The Program Management Team leads day to day engagement with the program Customers and communicates program commitments and expectations to the broader execution team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the VP of Program Management in developing, scaling, and operating a Program Management organization.
- Help to support Program Managers in understanding and actively managing customer expectations.
- Support Program Managers by understanding and enforcing contractual baselines.
- Envision and jointly develop processes for efficient and timely program management.
- Assist in management of Program Management personnel including assignments, reviews, identifying training needs, and issue resolution.
- Assist in formulation of program status and reporting to senior members of the management team.
- Identify resources that are necessary for the integrated programs portfolio.
- Assist in management to budget guidelines and business plans.
- Identify and mitigate risks to program execution and lead the Risk Management Process and Contracts Change Board Process.
- Develop strong relationships between management peers through effective communication and leadership.
- Assist in coordinating across a diverse team of engineering, supply chain, and production personnel to ensure program requirements are met.
- Support engagement with customers and senior management effectively through strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Serve as Program Manager, as assigned.
- Help foster York culture of inclusion and collaboration.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated understanding of Program Management principles.
- 10+ years’ experience as a program manager - PMP or equivalent desirable.
- Demonstrated self-initiated work and success in positions of leadership.
- Knowledge and attention to detail in contractual, financial and schedule matters.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
