The Director, Project & Program Management CP & ESG actively drives, manages, monitors, and reports on CPESG initiatives on behalf of the Division executive team and reports to the Vice President of Sales Operations. This function owns the CPESG planning processes, and is responsible for driving efficiency in business processes and operations. Safeguards that the initiatives undertaken meet the strategic goals of the Division.

The Director of Project & Program Management is a leadership position within CP & ESG and a key support role for the Divisional Staff. The Director has oversight and control over the entire Divisional program and project portfolio for a 2,300+ FTE organization. The PMO has oversight responsibility for the Division and Business Unit project portfolios. The PMO is also accountable to drive CPESG process improvement, and organization optimization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides global oversight to the entire project and program portfolio in CP & ESG, carrying overall responsibility to manage the pipeline and drive toward successful on-time and on budget delivery
  • Leads and oversees the annual Strategic Planning processes in the Division (MDM, VSP, and Budget)
  • Ensures that projects are aligned with Division and Business Unit stakeholders, and strategic objectives, and that deliverables are well-formed and actionable
  • Defines and oversees uniform frameworks, processes, and templates by which projects are requested, funded, executed, and reviewed, and the reporting and dashboarding of all CP & ESG programs and projects
  • Evaluates and provides input regarding demand and prioritization based on a global view on the entire project/program portfolio, considering business priorities, current portfolio, organization's execution capacity, and allocation of resources
  • Conducts regular reviews for critical projects, retrospectives on all projects, and ad hoc audits of any troubled projects
  • Conduct periodic financial reviews of CP & ESG spend with an eye to eliminating non-essential spend and directing it toward strategic objectives
  • Drive the execution of projects with geographically-dispersed teams
  • Ensure alignment of project management practices with functional roles such as Finance, HR, and Operations
  • Foster executive-level relationships and partnerships to advance project and organizational goals
  • Monitor and report on the progress and performance of projects, providing insights for improvement
  • Lead and influence decision-making processes at the Divisional and Business Unit level
  • Oversee the strategic allocation and management of resources for large-scale, complex projects
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and executive leadership to ensure strategic alignment
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education, Experience, & Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A., B.S.) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in project/program management
  • Experience working in a complex matrix organization preferred
  • Experience driving relationships and partnerships across stakeholder groups such as executives and cross-functional roles in Finance, HR, and Operations
  • Ability to effectively manage projects, delivering on time and within budget
  • Strong research and documentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent writing, verbal communications, and presentation skills
  • Ability to quickly absorb and analyze new technologies and practices
  • Strong financial analysis and business acumen
  • Fluent in English
  • Conversant in one or more European languages desirable

Travel Requirements

  • Minimum 30% overnight travel, both domestic and internationally

Physical Demands

Normal office requirements. The position will involve inflexible deadlines and numerous ad-hoc requests. Additional time may be required on a regular basis to complete assignments and meet key deadlines.

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $182,500-$258,350
