Job Description

A bit about us

We’re a venture-backed startup on a mission to change the future of hospitality and home. With properties in some of America’s most-loved cities, our unique platform allows buildings to blur the line between hotels and apartments. This all-in-one solution includes property operations, customer acquisitions, and the tech stack to operate with more flexibility than any other company in the market.

Our tech-enabled buildings create one-of-a-kind guest experiences and tremendous value in the underlying real estate. Whether guests are with us for a night, a year, or somewhere in between, these are more than just spaces to spend the night—they’re a place to call home.

Our property team members bring our business to life at each building, focusing on execution, along with resident and guest experience. Our non-property team members support property execution and the evolution of other areas within our platform.

The impact you'll have

The Director of Real Estate Platform Partnerships will be responsible for securing third-party managed real estate inventory across the U.S. (including full and partial building management of existing assets, as well as ground-up developments). This individual will be an integral part of accelerating our growth and will utilize their previous expertise in hospitality/multi-family real estate to expand the Placemakr portfolio. The Director of Real Estate Platform Partnerships will independently own a portion of Placemakr’s growth in the Western US, and will report to and work closely with the Vice President of Real Estate Partnerships.

This role is remote and preferred to be located in one of the following cities: Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco / Bay Area, Seattle, Denver, Dallas / Fort Worth, Phoenix, Austin, Chicago, Houston, or Las Vegas

What You'll Do

  • Grow new, and build on existing, partner relationships with national and regional real estate owners, developers, investors, and lenders. Leverage your existing network and actively source warm and cold introductions to expand Placemakr’s portfolio.
  • Lead the presentation of complex financial models to senior level real estate developers/investors as part of the sales and deal closing processes.
  • Successfully close on a large volume of high-quality real estate management contracts under varying deal structures.
  • Manage contract negotiations with support from Placemakr’s General Counsel.
  • Provide feedback and direction on deal underwriting to the feasibility team and be capable of doing some relatively simple excel modeling independently.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

What It Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 6-10 years of experience in multifamily and/or hotel investments, developments, or asset management
  • Experience in a quota-bearing or incentive-based role with an established successful deal track record
  • Ability to travel 40%-60% of the time based on business and deal needs
  • Ability to convey complex ideas simply and effectively to internal and external parties
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex and potentially lengthy sales processes and get deals to close
  • Self-starter mentality and a thirst to learn quickly
  • Unwavering attention to detail and organization
  • Strong business writing and communication skills
  • You embody our Community Norms. You Own It. You Make It Better. You Treat People Right
