Guild is hiring a Director, Risk & Compliance to lead the accounting team at our rapidly growing organization. The Director, Risk & Compliance will be responsible for developing, documenting, and monitoring compliance with internal controls over financial reporting. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem solving and change management.
As the Director, Risk & Compliance, you will:
- Lead the Company’s scoping of internal controls over financial reporting, which includes periodic risk assessment, materiality assessment, identification of significant accounts and processes
- Coordinate with Business Owners and Control Owners to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are effectively designed and sufficiently documented
- Communicate control deficiencies to Business Owners and Control Owners and assist them in designing remediation efforts
- Evaluate, document, and report control deficiencies
- Facilitate and monitor the remediation of control deficiencies
- Maintain the narrative documentation of the Company’s Entity Level Controls
- Identify opportunities for enhancements of the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and control activities
- Lead coordination of documentation of IT Controls activities with IT Security teams
- Build effective business partnerships with key leaders, anticipating the impact of new technologies and strategic initiative of the company and its risk profile
- Provide company training, coaching, and guidance relative to controls and governance
- Be a change agent for implementing internal controls and process improvements in an increasingly complex environment
You are a strong fit for this role if you have:
Required Competencies
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
- 10+ years of experience in financial statement auditing, Sarbanes Oxley compliance or a combination
- At least 3 years of people management
- Knowledge of and experience working within a COSO controls framework
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of internal auditing principles and best practices, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and generally accepted auditing standards

- Proven organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with all organization levels and team members in multiple locations and time zones
We feel passionately about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a base salary range of $160,000 - $182,500 as well as company stock options.
