The Director - Risk Management Scenario/Stress Testing will work with teams across the organization to organize tabletop exercises for forward looking risk opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Organize, execute, document, and follow up on tabletop exercises. Tabletops are intended to examine tail events whose probabilities are deemed to have become more proximate, and deserving of focused study.
-Generate suggestions for tabletop exercises
-Schedule tabletop exercises once approved by the Chief Risk Officer, ensuring appropriate representation from risk and the business units
-Create background materials for each exercises, including a scenario storyboard and questions for discussion
-Produce draft minutes from each session within 48 hours of the exercise, incorporate revisions and issue final editions
-Catalogue and track follow up issues
-Ensure all tabletop summaries are either discussed at GERC or included as reference materials
-Produce a year-end summary of tabletop exercises
Maintain Enterprise Stress Testing Policy.
-Describe separation of exercises and responsibilities
-Collaborate with others to establish and maintain a library of tail-event scenario exercises
Participate in the Idiosyncratic Event Design Working Group (IEDWG).
-Establish annual programs of tail event exercises
-Generate and approve idiosyncratic events included in the annual CCAR exercise
-Assist with the analysis of stress events used for quarterly Capital Management Assessments
Participate in Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) governance
-Identify overlaps between scenarios and BC/DR plan testing
-Support the broader Global Business Continuity and Recovery Services team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree essential; masters strongly preferred• Minimum of five years experience in bank risk management, with focus on custody banks and non-financial risk highly desired• Project management experience• Strong writing and networking skills• Ability to work independently
