THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Salesloft, our Sales Engineering leaders are pivotal to our company’s success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing North American Enterprise Sales Engineering Team. You will be our boots-on-the-ground solution to enabling our North America Enterprise Sales Engineering team to make our prospective customers successful.

We are looking for a Director, Sales Engineering who brings a unique skill set to our organization, combining technical expertise with an innate ability to build trust with both technical and non-technical audiences. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this director will be responsible for managing the North America Enterprise Sales Engineering team and partnering with Regional Vice Presidents and Account Executives to drive new revenue in our ENT segment. 

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for enabling the North America Enterprising Sales Engineering team: educating the market about the power of Salesloft and generating opportunities with net-new customers.  Specifically, you will:

  • Develop the vision for a world-class sales engineering team
  • Hire, onboard, and coach world-class Principal-level sales engineering talent
  • Equip the team to support typical SE responsibilities (customer/prospect meetings, delivering demonstrations & proof-of-concepts, leading workshops/assessments, driving & gathering customer requirements, responses to RFPs, etc)
  • Support responsibilities such as team meetings/calls and compensation planning
  • Drive results with a strong performance management process that includes activities such as goal planning, professional development, and quarterly reviews.
  • Be ultimately responsible for team motivation, retention, career planning
  • As needed, act as a customer facing resource who is capable of personally getting involved in sales campaigns

THE TEAM:

The Salesloft Enterprise Sales Engineering team is comprised of seasoned and up-and-coming professionals who are all aligned on one mission: to redefine the Sales Engagement space and activate the authentic seller in all of us. 

The Sales Engineer team consists of ‘sales nerds’ who pursue technical depth in Salesloft and Salesforce as well as mastery of consultative selling and relationship building.  They are also the epitome of our core values - Customers First. THE SKILL SET:

  • 3-5+ years B2B sales engineering leadership experience
  • 5-10+ years of technology experience in SaaS pre-sales, sales and customer services or a combination of these
  • Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, both customer-facing and internal
  • Ability to influence key decisions across cross-functional organizations and at the internal and external executive management level

WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU’LL:

  • Attend Salesloft’s New Hire Orientation, where you will learn our Salesloft story and understand what makes our “Lofters” unique 
  • Begin 1:1’s with your team, meet and shadow members of the Salesloft team, and assess performance
  • Set OKRs that align to the Global SE charter and develop an action plan to execute
  • Start building relationships across key partners in Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product
  • Become demo certified and create a plan for ongoing technical upskilling

WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Create your strategy and vision for the next 12 to 18 months; plus, detail your initiatives to reach your objectives
  • Develop operating rhythms and meeting structure with the team
  • Have coaching and ongoing development plans in place for each direct report
  • Have built relationships across all key stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product

WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Consistently meet or exceed your goals
  • Continue to focus on your OKRs

WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU’LL:

  • Have executed on a strategic vision for the team
  • Have hired and onboarded world-class sales engineering talent that is effective in the organization

It is Salesloft’s intent to pay all Lofters competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair and equitable.  The goal of Salesloft’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees and encourage employees to stay with our organization.  

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans. 

Base Pay Range
$144,000—$247,000 USD
