We are seeking a strategic and technically accomplished leader to drive sales engineering initiatives across North America. This role combines customer-facing technical expertise with team leadership to deliver innovative, data-driven solutions that align with business objectives. You will partner closely with sales, product, and professional services teams to design, demonstrate, and implement solutions that address complex customer needs. The role emphasizes building and mentoring a high-performing team, enabling technical adoption, and ensuring customer success while providing feedback to product strategy. You will operate at the intersection of technical leadership, solution architecture, and go-to-market execution, with significant influence on business growth and market expansion.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the North American sales engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and enablement to ensure consistent high performance.
- Partner with sales teams to qualify opportunities, design solutions, and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, proofs-of-concept, and pilot implementations.
- Engage with strategic customers and partners to understand business and technical requirements, providing tailored solutions that drive adoption and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Professional Services teams to align solution design with product capabilities and deployment requirements.
- Drive technical enablement, content creation, and knowledge sharing across the sales engineering organization to support GTM initiatives.
- Monitor and optimize SE performance metrics, KPIs, and processes to ensure effective coverage, technical excellence, and customer success.
- Support partner and channel engagements, providing technical leadership for embedded solutions and partner opportunities.
- 4–5+ years of experience in a technical management or sales engineering leadership role, ideally in data platforms, cloud, or enterprise software.
- Strong customer-facing and solution-selling skills, including experience engaging at CXO and line-of-business levels.
- Deep technical proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and familiarity with NoSQL, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and hybrid deployments.
- Experience leading proofs-of-concept, solution demonstrations, and technical enablement programs.
- Ability to formulate SE organizational strategy, set KPIs, and guide team members to achieve measurable outcomes.
- Strong collaboration skills across Sales, Product, Professional Services, and Partner teams.
- Hands-on or leadership experience in database performance tuning, security, scalability, and deployment patterns.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset and operational focus.
