Director, Sales/Partnerships
Job Description
Discovery Education is looking for a Director, Sales/Partnerships to join our Corporate Education Partnership (CEP) team. As a member of the net new corporate partnerships (sales) team, you'll be the pivotal revenue-focused lead in a matrixed go-to-market team responsible for launching a new social impact product. In this role, initially, you will facilitate the voice of the customer (students, teachers, employees) and the client (employers) to build a successful sales and customer success journey that yields stand-alone and bundled product sales. Broadly, there are three major components of the role:
- Go-to-Market (GTM) - working in alignment with product, marketing, communications, and existing CEP revenue and strategy teams to lead the successful launch of a Beta (2023) and 2.0 product (2023-2024). Success is determined by, as the CEP team lead, achieving milestone development and launch timelines that support a sound GTM strategy.
- Sales - winning deals and supporting winning deals across the sales teams based on a sound selling proposition and implementation model that yields recurring partnerships. This includes direct client facing sales as well as back-end enablement strategy for multiple sales leaders. Success is determined by the quality (renewable, mission-aligned) and volume of new corporate partners.
- Customer Success - contributing to the development of a new customer success, or partner impact, model that is both stand-alone and embedded into the current Social Impact Coalition and Custom Partner Impact implementation workflows.

Requirements
- Working collaboratively to build a sales pipeline focused on driving revenue, adoption, and market penetration.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering on revenue commitments in a direct and/or overlay leadership capacity.
- Experience with customer success, client services models.
- Experience working with new product/service development teams and their outbound functions.
- Track record of building rapport with senior customer executives (e.g. CHRO, CMO, CEO), building close relationships, and closing mission-aligned partnerships.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Proven ability to deliver results in a matrix organization (leveraging multiple functions and teams).
- The ability to do what needs to be done without being micromanaged; ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, proactively manage numerous projects, and prioritize competing timelines; demonstrate a problem solving/ solution-oriented approach.
- Bachelor's degree required and advanced degree's preferred.
