Candidate Description:
As the Head of SEO/Search, you will define a revitalized AOL Search strategy and roadmap. Candidate will coordinate SEO efforts while partnering with our revenue optimization team. You are an experienced leader in the Search/SEO space and have demonstrated success building and leading teams, managing and mentoring people, and working with analytics, product, design, engineering, marketing, and partnership/distribution teams to execute effective product strategies.

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $144,000.00 - $240,000.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program. Job Requirements:
- Work closely with end-users and UX researchers to analyze needs and identify/prioritize the problems, pain points, and pleasure points required to fulfill user expectations for search results
- Collaborate with adtech to create solutions for acquiring and optimizing traffic for search intent by building display ads to drive more searches
- Identify opportunities and partnerships through well researched analysis and innovative ideation
- Create the SEO improvement vision, strategy, roadmap, requirement and release schedule
- Execute with thoroughness by QAing and analyzing to ensure positive results
- Build strong relationships across analytics, design, engineering, partner management, and marketing teams and lead them to launch new products/features for testing/iteration
- Execute with cross-functional teams by leading daily scrums and standups, gaining consensus for appropriate engagement and revenue trade-offs
- Inform and update executives and stakeholders on product performance, plans, and progress towards metrics
- Work with stakeholders to understand and identify key business goals, achieve them in a technically sustainable way, and report on their implementation
- Ability to measure and report on enterprise search and SEO changes.
- Guide the content team's strategy to ensure quality and engaging content that demonstrate expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-A-T)
- Develop and implement creative link acquisition and keyword targeting strategies
- Closely monitor changes to Google's algorithms and be able to interpret and communicate to leadership and stakeholders a list of action items to respond to the changes so as to minimize any negative impact for continued growth
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years in consumer-focused mobile, apps, and web products.
- Prior experience in search, SEO, or web advertising, a good understanding of how search engine works including the top ranking factors is a strong plus
- Bachelor's or Master's in highly-quantitative fields (science, stats, math, economics)
- Demonstrated use of analytics, metrics, and benchmarking to drive decisions
- Knowledge of standard and current SEO best practices for organic and news SEO
- Familiarity with relevant tools (e.g. Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Ahrefs) and web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Omniture)
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex problems
