Director, Service Engineering

• Create a partnership with Innovation and Product Management Stakeholders to understand their needs towards driving New Product Development. Understand the business context and how to translate business and functional requirements into sustainable platform implementations
• Lead the coordination activities amongst the stakeholders across the organization
• Lead the Communications program to ensure the impacted functional organizations are informed, aligned, and are ready for upcoming new product delivery.
• Oversee, maintain and execute a repeatable delivery framework that will include Business and User Acceptance testing, rollout of new platforms and retirement of the old
• Oversee the delivery process to ensure Business and User Acceptance test plans to facilitate various levels of required testing amongst the functional organizations.
• Provide insight and expertise into the platform capabilities and vendor product roadmaps

You should have:

• Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline with at least seven years of hands on experience; ten or more years of experience strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience, a minimum of twelve (12) years with at least five in a management capacity.
• Experience leading, coaching and mentoring direct reports.
• Comprehensive knowledge of networking, RF, Video and systems engineering. Understanding of and experience in multi-services networks, data and media network strategies, multi-vendor equipment
• Experience designing and leading an engineering test lab environment.
• Extensive knowledge in technical and solution documentation and presentation generation.
• Experience in robust product/service and system design and implementation strategies: i.e. Program Management
• Experience in Product Management processes such as market analysis, customer needs assessment, product deployment.
• Knowledge of industry best practices on network, video and RF architecture and engineering.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to develop and manipulate spreadsheets, analyze empirical test results and compare to vendor published performance. specifications; understand how technical performance results must be adapted to operational guidelines.
• Solid leadership, organizational, presentation, communication and planning skills.
• Working knowledge of small to large Antenna systems technology, IF/ RF communications services systems and Monitoring systems.
• Understand the functionality of WAN technologies such as DWDM, SDH, SONET, and Terrestrial/Satellite Leased line (fracT1 - OC3).
• Experience developing customer requirements, creating customer solutions, and documenting customer service architecture.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of RF (C Band, Ku band), IF, L-Band and RF system block diagrams.
• Knowledge of iDirect, Serial and Ethernet Sat Modem, DVB-S and DVB-S2 systems.
• Knowledge designing and deploying IP-Based Satellite Platforms and Hubs to include: iDirect Technologies.
• Understanding of the functionality of TCP/IP and Routing protocols to include: MBGP/BGP-4, ISIS, OSPF/OSPFv3, RSVP, LDP, EIGRP, IGRP, RIP-1/2, etc.
• Working knowledge of LAN technologies like 802.XX, Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Van/Trunking.
• Experience with hardware and software testing, integration and deployment into large, 24x7 Operations organizations
• Ability to create a vision of the future, to gain organizational backing, and to drive that vision towards reality and implementation
• Ability to work in a matrixed organization
• Ability to handle multiple, complex projects simultaneously
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Exceptional collaboration, facilitation, and presentation skills
