The Crown Is Yours
As the Director of Site Reliability Engineering you'll oversee the design, deployment, and optimization of our infrastructure, ensuring it is resilient, scalable, and cost-effective. You'll focus on ensuring the reliability and performance of our mission-critical systems and services. You'll leverage your leadership experience to guide a team of highly talented technology leaders who are are working on a large scale, cloud based and on premises environment that enable our customers to engage with our products in real time during events. You will play a pivotal role in driving critical initiatives, optimizing infrastructure, and fostering a culture of reliability across the organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000.00 - $336,000.00, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. What you'll do as a Director of Site Reliability Engineering
- Build and develop a team of Site Reliability Engineers focused on maintaining and innovating our infrastructure.
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the Site Reliability Engineering team, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Establish strong working relationships with product engineering teams to understand the challenges of our engineers.
- Define best practices for the engineering teams to follow that improve automated solutions.
- Drive automation efforts to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and reduce human error.
- Create a customer-focused strategy, establish effective monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact the customer experience.
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system reliability, availability, and performance.
What you'll bring
- At least 7 years of experience building and managing effective technology teams.
- Clear track record of nurturing & growing engineering talent.
- Experience with Cloud-based architectures - we use AWS/GCP.
- Ability to work collaboratively across many disciplines, enabling good decisions at every level.
- Technology leadership experience with demonstrated ability to design, build and operate scalable systems through others.
- Proven ability to address complex technical challenges and find innovative solutions within the SRE domain.
- Understanding of risk management and security practices in cloud-based systems to ensure data integrity and protection.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, as well as to inspire, mentor, and lead a diverse team.
- An understanding and commitment to align with DraftKings' culture, values, and goals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
