Director – Social, Influencer, and Partnerships
Job Description
At Vital Proteins, we are on a mission to help people get more out of life by making products that enable them to look, feel & move their best. Reporting to the VP of Consumer Engagement, we are seeking a Director of Social, Influencer, & Partnerships to lead the team(s) responsible for authentically connecting with consumers 365 days a year and step changing the way in which Vital Proteins shows up in the wellness space.
This critical role will help position our brand to grow by embedding Vital Proteins within wellness culture and building consumer belief in the benefits of our products. The primary goals of this role will be to drive deeper brand awareness & relevancy through the intersection of brand strategy, creative concepts, social media strategy and partnership marketing. You will work closely with internal and external partners to bring to life Vital Proteins’ role in key moments throughout the wellness calendar, evolve our influencer strategy and ultimately develop & launch a brand partnership offense that will enable Vital Proteins to become deeply embedded within the wellness community.
This position interacts with nearly every function within the business and will play a pivotal role in translating business priorities into consumer facing activities. The ideal candidate is a strategic & inspirational team leader who can balance driving alignment with senior leaders in one moment while getting in the weeds and driving clarity for their team in the next. This candidate should be adept at the modern social media landscape, understand the role authentic influencer relationships play in building a culturally relevant brand and have significant experience identifying, negotiating, and activating mutually beneficial brand partnerships.
What you will be responsible for:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media, influencer and partnership strategy that supports the growth of the brand and drives brand love
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure social media, influencer and partnership strategies are aligned with overall marketing and business objectives.
- Develop and manage relationships with key social platforms, influencers, and partners to drive engagement and increase brand awareness.
- Closely collaborate with creative teams to drive social content that resonates with our target audience(s) and is the envy of industry peers
- Establish, monitor, and continuously optimize towards KPIs that are in service of broader organizational goals
- Directly identify, negotiate, and activate partnerships in the wellness space (beauty, sports, fitness, etc.)
- Consistently stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and actively pursue test & learn opportunities to continuously innovate
- Collaborate with Shopper Marketing, Events & E-Commerce peers to utilize social, influencer & partnership levers to help drive the business.
- Cross-Functional Team Leadership: provide inspirational leadership and deep marketing capability to a diverse team challenged with accelerated growth
Who you are:
- Minimum Qualification: Undergraduate Degree
- Additional Education welcome but not required.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years prior Consumer Marketing experience (if undergrad degree only) OR 10 years of prior Marketing experience (if Advanced degree)
- CPG marketing and/or Agency side expertise strongly preferred.
Skills/Capabilities:
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently and with a team.
- Proven expertise in analyzing business and consumer trends/insights and translating them into effective creative strategies that build audience growth, affinity, and engagement.
- Deep understanding of the media landscape, how its evolving and how to integrate creative and media to maximize impact.
- Passionate about creativity and the wellness cultural landscape
- Have significant experience working with creative partners throughout the entire creative development process from brief development to execution
- A strategic thinker with a high emotional IQ
- Digital native with expertise in building a brand’s voice in social, from storytelling pillars to audience development
- Entrepreneurial spirit, highly collaborative, strategic mindset, and detail-oriented
- Passion for innovative thinking and ways of working
- A strength in storytelling with an ability to distill an insight and turn it into inspiration
- Prior experience managing & inspiring a team to disrupt the status quo
- A staunch developer of people who is passionate about teaching & mentoring
