Director, Software Engineering

As a Director of Application Engineering, you’ll lead multiple collaborative teams responsible for delivering business critical capabilities via cross platform mobile applications and distributed systems. We’re looking for technically strong, passionate people with an entrepreneurial spirit to build and sustain innovative solutions. The role will report to VP, Application Engineering.

• Lead teams to build and maintain business-critical, enterprise-grade systems using modern technology and techniques.
• Grow teams and managers through technical and non-technical guidance, mentorship and support.
• Collaborate with others to define roadmaps for meeting business objectives.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, and incorporate them into development practices when appropriate.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement and best practices within the organization.
• Affect organizational change through direct/indirect influence, effective communication and persuasion.

• 10+ years software development experience.
• 5+ years experience leading and managing software engineering teams.
• Strong technical foundation in numerous technologies and an ability to go deep when needed: programming languages, databases, cloud vendors, mobile application development.
• Experience with distributed systems design, implementation and operation at scale.
• Experience using agile software development methodologies and tools.
• Clear and effective communication.
• Ability to collaborate effectively among cross-functional teams.
• Experience and passion for recruiting and building first-class engineering teams.

• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with React Native.
• Experience with native mobile development (Swift and/or Kotlin)
