Director, Specialty Resins & Performance Products
Job Description
Basic Function
The purpose of the role is to lead and develop the marketing, business management, and sales function for the Specialty Resins and Performance Products in the Americas region to deliver business results, define and lead business development, define and execute strategic objectives, and develop people for additional/future roles. Lead the marketing team to develop and implement market, product, and pricing strategies through Marketing Excellence to create differential value.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the Specialty Resins and Performance Products marketing and sales team in the Americas to achieve EBITDA, cash contribution, and business growth targets.
- Develop the expertise of the team to add value and promote Sales & Marketing Excellence that is aligned with the goals of both the individuals and the team.
- Lead the development and execution of a multi-year strategy for the Specialty Resins and Performance Product business that is focused on de-risking the portfolio exposed to single use / circularity risk.
- Develop & Execute a Marketing Excellence strategy for each major product segment to deliver incremental value totaling over $3 million in 2022
- Assist Sr Director with price and volume forecasting for financial models as well as perform monthly price performance analysis and review.
- Serve as the commercial gatekeeper for developmental & technical projects (i.e. GIGP process)
- Align with R&D and manufacturing to ensure that the development of new products and asset base align with short- and long-term business goals
- Develop regional annual marketing plan addressing initiatives required for marketing, products, customers, contract positioning, price positioning, and asset capability in collaboration with Asset management, ADTS, and Sales.
- Oversee regional team that executes detailed analysis of relevant sub-segmented markets; identifying key drivers, competitive dynamics, and customer/product portfolios.
- Understand market segment performance vs. benchmarks and identify actions to close gaps (i.e. PTAI quarterly revenue, ACC monthly statistics)
- Monitor all relevant industry seminars and participate / present where appropriate.
- Organize external webinars on new product / application developments to reach all stakeholders.
- Support preparation of monthly financial forecast by coordinating regional volume / price inputs.
- Manage the interface between the Specialty and Performance sales/marketing teams and the product development team, supply planning team, and commodity polyolefins sales team.
- Work with the regional Marketing team to develop marketing strategy on new, innovative, products and applications.
- Drive GoalZERO HSE performance and behaviors through active engagement and employee involvement aligned with corporate standards and expectations.
- Support Product Stewardship Program through active engagement in PRMP and ERM processes. Committee membership on the Application Review Committee (ARC). Review and approve Medical Review (MRF) applications.
- Travel as needed (estimate 20%)
- Fully active participant in Polymers Americas Leadership Team
- All other duties not specifically assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field
- 15+ years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management, with at least 10 years of progressively increased leadership responsibility.
- Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Polyolefins; Experience working in a multi-national company
- MBA or Master's degree in Science or Engineering preferred
- Preferred: Prior P&L and COM data analytics experience
