What will you do

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Director, Strategic & Business Development at its facility located at 5757 N. Green Bay Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53209.

How will you do it

• Work closely with business unit presidents to define and execute Johnson Controls long term vision.
• S/he will develop and evolve proprietary company strategies to ensure the sustainable/profitable organic and inorganic growth for the company that will ensure the company's sustainable profitable growth, resulting in a higher valuation.
• S/he will directly report to the VP of Strategic Development.
• S/he will develop executive relationships, foster new business development, and lead the execution of all strategic and market assessment plans elements.
• S/he will work together with Business Unit and Corporate leadership.
• S/he will drive portfolio strategy, investments and actions that will drive incremental revenue growth and value for Johnson Controls.
• S/he will bring energy, act as a self-starter, and be relentless in their pursuit of creating value for Johnson Controls in a dynamic environment.
• S/he will partner with business unit president to develop and execute corporate strategy and serves as a key leader to ensure long term business success.
• S/he will support definition of new lines of business for business expansion and contract growth strategies to ensure healthy growth of new and existing customers.
• S/he will lead all aspects of market assessment in support of M&A transactions including primary market research, market sizing, competitive landscape, and cooperation with legal functions. Remote work may be permitted.

What we look for

This position requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration or a related field, plus 3 years of experience with strategic development and M&A transactions for a corporation, business, management consulting firm, or legal firm. Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with:

(1) Market assessment including segmentation, benchmarking, competitive landscaping, and growth assessment;

(2) Consulting with a top-tier consulting firm or similar industry;

(3) Financial analysis and modeling skills;

(4) Leading in a complex and dynamic environment;

(5) Presenting and writing presentations for a global Executive audience;

(6) Working with legal professionals; and

(7) HVAC and fire detection-and-suppression-related technologies.
