Director, Strategic Business Development and Program Management

As announced in December 2022, Applied intends to make multi-billion-dollar investments in its innovation infrastructure (R&D labs, etc.). We're looking for someone with broad cross-functional experience in semi equipment to join our team. The ideal candidate can thrive in an unstructured environment and desires to have a big impact on the future of Applied and our industry. This is a highly visible, senior business development and program management role with the opportunity to interact with and influence people at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D lab infrastructure strategy, business development, and program management.
• Engage deeply on one or more infrastructure partnerships to manage the process from ideation through negotiation and contract closure.
• Collaborate with finance teams to develop financial models of cost and potential revenue of partnerships and new business models with Universities, state governments and private sector segments. This work will include negotiation and contract closure.
• Help develop business processes and systems to manage multiple infrastructure projects work across the business units to document, understand, and prioritize infrastructure needs and timelines.
• Prepare and deliver program updates for VP-level audiences.

Required experience/capabilities:

• 10+ years in the semiconductor equipment industry
• Strong technical background with experience in marketing, strategy, and/or program/product management
• Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional role and leading cross-functional/cross-organizational programs
• Demonstrated ability or desire to get the job done even when there is no playbook on how to do the job
• Willingness to learn

U.S. Salary Range:

$176,000.00 - $242,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
