Director, Strategic Initiatives

Job Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy and Innovation, the Strategic Initiatives Director is responsible for the analysis and strategy on high priority initiatives. This individual will work senior management and key external stakeholders to identify, clarify, and resolve complex issues critical to Kairos Power business strategy. He/she will work with leads in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Development to collect, maintain and define product data, captures and communicates lessons learned and scaling considerations, establishes models to analyze and summarize the data into value propositions and formulates recommendations for executive management decision making.

Responsibilities 

• This role will work closely with the company’s top executive with regular exposure to senior leaders, CEO to support define, drive and execute strategic and operational initiatives
• Identify, establish and maintain strategic relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders
• Liaise directly with the Leadership Team on day-to-day issues along with special projects, take initiative to identify opportunities/problems, investigate and analyze relevant data, recommend solutions and structure follow through
• To do so, this position will also guide the team that maintains a suite of company tracking and monitoring business strategy tools
• The role will be positioned to steer and influence cross-functional teams and will need to leverage exceptional creativity, pioneering, vision and communication skills to enhance our mission
• Continually assess and manage risks and issues, ensure all risks/issues are brought to resolution in a timely and mutually agreeable manner
• Produce and distribute meeting agendas, presentations, thorough meeting notes and follow up on action items to resolution including communications to be shared with senior leaders, across de company and externally, investor Days, KP-OMADA, etc. 
• Track current data to identify if an immediate strategy change is needed and track uncertainties
• Lead business analysts responsible of tracking, analysis and data crunching
• Build and lead a world-class team to support Kairos Power’s mission
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional work experience in, strategy or related field; some high-growth operations or startup experience is highly desired
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field, Master’s degree preferred
• Strategic thinker, with experience designing and setting strategy and developing frameworks to measure achievement of goals
• Proven stakeholder engagement and management experience, coupled with finesse in building collaborative, mutually beneficial partnerships
• Ability to lead/ project manage cross-functional teams working on complex, operational and strategic initiatives
• Extensive experience with and understanding of data collection and aggregation and how subsequent analysis and insights can be made actionable for user groups
• Demonstrated storytelling, writing and presentation skills, making analysis and insights tangible

The salary range for this position is $213,000 to $267,000 for employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, the market data for your work location, and a comparison to other employees already in the role.
