About the Role

The Strategy & Planning team is responsible for orienting the Taskrabbit business around our long-term goals and objectives, and linking that to how we plan, execute, and hold ourselves accountable. The team focuses on the intersection between the forward-looking work to orient our business on where we need to be in the next 3-5 years, and the tactical processes of aligning our teams around mid-term goals to meet those objectives. The S&P team up-levels the organization by bringing in perspective on competition, the evolving market, and our own business model.

As the Director of Strategy & Planning, you will be responsible for managing a team responsible for long-term strategy and mid-term planning for the Taskrabbit organization.  You will be a leader in the organization in positioning how we think about what we’re building over the next 3-5 years to address opportunities in the home services space, and innovate how we best serve our customers and our Taskers. You’ll deeply understand the market, and our different customer groups, and drive longer-term work around how we think about our competition, opportunities in our market, and where we invest our time and our resources.

The team will be the nexus for the organization, bringing together teams with coordinated planning, and accountability around execution. Bridging the gap between our long-term strategy and our shorter-term execution, the S&P team will help increase the effectiveness of teams across Taskrabbit.

Join us in transforming lives, one task at a time.

What You'll Work On:
  • Hire, develop, and manage a 2-3 person Strategy & Planning team
  • Own our long-term vision and strategy
  • Drive our annual planning process, linking to our long-term strategy, and coordinating functions across the business to deliver a trusted output
  • Build and manage an OKR framework and process for us to hold ourselves and our teams accountable for the goals we set
  • Own one-off and ongoing analysis and work streams around competitive intelligence, business model evolution, customer experience, Tasker experience, and supply and demand matching
  • Discover patterns, insights, opportunities to inform future business strategy, while evaluating current business performance
  • Be the expert on our competitive landscape and provide insights that will continue to position Taskrabbit as a key player and top home services marketplace in our space
Your Areas Of Expertise:

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Below gives you a sense of how we're thinking about what you'll need to be successful in the role.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience, helping team members realize their full potential, and influencing the team culture
  • Proactiveness: Independently capable of seeking information in an unstructured environment, solving conceptual problems, corralling resources, and delivering results in challenging situations
  • Problem-solving: Adapt in working with data; able to both delve into the details and engage meaningfully on higher level strategy
  • Strategic thinker: Ability to create a clear set of plans, goals, and new ideas
  • Initiative and ownership: Ability to act with limited oversight on day-to-day basis, balancing multiple priorities
  • Ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems, thoughts, and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations to different types of audiences, including executives
  • Experience working closely with senior executives to solve challenging business problems; credibly present and debate recommendations with senior leadership
  • Relationship building: Ability to build trust quickly, high degree of empathy and expertise at managing senior, cross-functional relationships
  • Team-first attitude: Motivated to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment to help our growing business and how TaskRabbit operates
