We are seeking a qualified Director of Procurement & Supply Chain (SFR) to join our team. In this position, you will lead the company's Procurement activities and work closely with the Vendor Management team to support Construction Operations. Key responsibilities include managing the Procurement team, fostering & maintaining positive working relationships with external customers, ensuring product needs are met, & driving strategic sourcing initiatives including product compliance. Experience managing vendors, negotiating with suppliers, and process driven production experience is required. This position will report to the SVP, Supply Chain & Field Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Direct & manage day-to-day activities of Procurement team
  • Responsible for approving and reporting cost changes & communicating to stakeholders
  • Negotiate costs and contract terms with vendors and suppliers
  • Anticipate future issues such as product shortages and apprise senior leadership as prudent
  • Maintain an up to date working knowledge of industry trends & product research
  • Forecast product needs and communicate through supply chain to optimize inventory and product flow
  • Create procurement spend reporting and use this information to guide sourcing activities
  • Identify areas to reduce costs, create action plans, and collaborate with business partners to implement
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts & ability to resolve related issues with stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a continuous improvement ethos. Ability to identify areas of opportunity and positively influence business decisions
  • Collaborate cross departmentally with stakeholders to execute long term, strategic initiatives
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members to support the organizations long term growth plans
  • Set goals & KPI's for the team. Provide a compelling vision and motivating work environment
  • Partner with the SVP of Supply Chain & Field Services to harness synergies across the collective Field Services team
  • Make effective use of technology to achieve results
  • Lead with a customer service mindset. Cultivate & maintain a strong working relationship with our Construction team.
  • Root cause mindset. Use lessons gained during analysis to identify where processes can be refined, or data entry restructured. Play a key role in leading or supporting these initiatives.
  • Travel as needed to meet above objectives

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Operations, Supply Chain, or Finance preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau, & ERP systems along with demonstrated experience working with large data sets and/or databases
  • Understanding of finance principles. Ability to use strategic thinking to guide & drive results. Use cost-benefit thinking to set priorities
  • Excellent written & verbal skills
  • Experience in home building/construction or an understanding of the construction or renovation process is beneficial
  • While the above qualifications are preferred, they are not required. An individual with advanced problem-solving skills, a strong sense of ownership, a process driven mindset, and an ability to work autonomously would have a strong foundation in which to become a successful Director of Procurement & Supply Chain (SFR)
