CLA is currently hiring a Director for our Sustainability, ESG, Climate Data team.

The opportunity

As a Director, you will be a member of our national Assurance Consulting Team (ACT). The Sustainability, ESG and Climate Data team is growing and requires outstanding, innovative, and engaging professionals to join our team. Our team is privileged to be working on one of the most pressing and topical business and societal issue of our time. Through our services, we help our clients understand, engage with and act on their sustainability-related risks and opportunities.

Your key responsibilities

As a Director, you will lead and develop the Sustainability and ESG practice across a range of industries to assist companies in establishing or improving their climate related insights and current ESG reporting process. The Director will report to the Managing Principal of Assurance. Responsibilities include:

• Serve as senior subject matter advisor on engagements actively directing engagement team members
• Build internal awareness materials and develop learning plan to upskill and help scale our ESG practice
• Lead practice efforts on proposal development
• Lead attestation engagements
• Participate in conferences and speaking events to support client and market development

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in related field

Certifications/Licenses:

• ESG related certification

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a background in leading Sustainability and ESG engagement teams.

• 7+ years of recent strategy or data & analytics consulting experience from an accounting firm, management consultancy or ESG consultancy; minimum five years in reporting (GHG protocols, reporting frameworks)
• Extensive experience in project management including planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing staff, clients and/or partners towards the successful completion of a project
• Subject-matter knowledge across Sustainability / ESG strategy, program design, management, reporting and transparency and risk management, and other areas with a demonstrated expertise in one or more topic areas
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
