Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources & Operations, we are looking for a Director, Talent to help build/strengthen people strategies and practices designed to attract, nurture and promote a diverse workforce, and cultivate inclusion across the lifecycle of the employee experience.
What You'll Do
As the Director, Talent, you will lead key workstreams that include:
- Recruitment & Search Management Strategy
- Lead the design of equitable selection processes, including candidate profiles, interview guides, work samples, rubrics
- Providing, training, coaching and support to hiring managers on EG's approach to search, competency-based interviewing and bias mitigation
- Develop strategic relationships to grow overall talent pipeline, including EG's network, organizations, champions, and informational interviews
- Create compelling messaging/materials to communicate EG's employer brand and attract candidates
- Manage candidate database and utilize reporting to streamline processes, ensure accurate reporting for active searches, and to capture information about candidates that can be referenced in future searches
- Full-Cycle Recruitment
- Serve as Search Lead for 4-6 searches/quarter (associate to director level)
- Draft ideal candidate profile, search strategy to ensure alignment of all stakeholders and manage search to close as quickly and effectively as possible
- Screen candidates, conduct phone interviews, coach and partner with hiring managers in selecting the best possible talent for their teams
- Provide timely, empathetic and constructive candidate communications, ensuring candidates have all necessary information to show up as their best selves
- Manage interview scheduling for hiring manager and team and providing candidate materials at least 24 hours in advance of interviews.
- New Employee Integration
- Close the crucial gap between offer and onboarding in the life-cycle of new employees, coordinating with IT, Finance and our Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
- Lead the planning, coordination and execution of New Employee Integration, collaborating with the Senior Director of HR and context experts to ensure the scope, sequence and resources for key topics are generated/updated
- Provide quality control and ensure talent milestones of employee onboarding are met through timely support to managers, check-ins with new staff, and by stewarding new managers/staff members to and through the 90-day review and individual goal setting process
- Create and conduct evaluation plan for employee onboarding
- Employee Engagement & Enablement
- Support the Sr Director with development of various programs and help guide managers in the implementation of initiatives including performance management, employee engagement, and learning and development.
- Serve as a member of the Race Equity Taskforce to elevate issues, concerns, and ideas centered around talent management and org culture to the Taskforce, while serving as subject matter expert on HR policy and compliance
- Build relationships with staff across levels to cultivate belonging and provide ad hoc coaching

- Talent Acquisition & Development Experience: Know-how and a long-term view on what it takes to set up staff for success and create a context where they can thrive. Excellent at assessing talent even when outside of functional or personal expertise. Ready to offer guidance early career and middle management staff. on best practices for leading, directing, and managing work.

Able to build structure where there isn't any and codify best practices to enable implementation by others, all the while prioritizing customization, efficiency and equity.
- Project Management: Unyielding follow-up and follow-through to juggle multiple competing priorities, including searches, new employee integration plans and bigger picture talent strategy, in a fast-paced, global organization
- Influential Collaboration: Facility motivating and mobilizing individuals and teams, working across lines of difference, and communicating inconvenient messages with candor and empathy
- Coaching and Mentoring: Commitment to support others to cultivate the skills, knowledge, and connections they need to do the work well today, and build capacity to do great work in the future.
- Change Leadership: An iterative approach and blend of both patience and persistence in stewarding change and engaging colleagues in the emotional and tactical elements of moving through it.
Benefits
Base Salary: $125,000/year
Echoing Green offers a full benefits package designed to support employee wellness which includes:

Echoing Green is a hybrid organization with 3 days in our New York City Office and 2 days remote.
