The Human Resources Strategic Capabilities Unit develops, retains, rewards and attracts talent needed for the business to attain strategic and operational goals.
Director - Talent Acquisition
What You'll Do:
- Set the strategy and tone for the Talent Acquisition team by being a present leader who advocates for the needs of the team.
- Serve as a change agent in leading the Talent Acquisition organization forward with innovation in diversity recruitment.
- Exceptional understanding of TA best practices, current trends, and techniques.
- Partner with internal HR stakeholders to ensure alignment of recruitment process, goals and results with business needs and objectives.
- Responsible for overall leadership and development of the TA team including best practices, latest techniques, and industry trends. Coach and mentor team members while creating a team environment for knowledge transfer, cross-training and employee morale using the Inspire, Connect and Achieve (ICA) framework.
- Progressively review the nationwide Talent Advisor approach to recruiting, including Ball Aerospace locations outside of Colorado.
- Develop new and sustainable methods to identify, source, evaluate and pipeline pools of diverse, qualified candidates including but not limited to utilizing lead generation, competitive intelligence gathering, social media and digital talent marketing.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement to existing Talent Acquisition processes and procedures, including how to scale for business growth.
- Engage regularly with the College Recruiting Lead to collaborate on strategy and future forecast.
- Measurement and improvement of the recruitment process through recruiting metric collection, analysis, trending and goal setting.
- Research Talent Acquisition issues; advise management on a potential course of action and maintain the integrity of Human Resources policies, programs, and objectives.
- Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest ethical standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
- Participate in strategic discussions with business leaders to understand current and future business requirements to allow for just in time hiring.
- Take part in strategy planning with TA Leadership.
- Is accountable for the effective implementation of Talent Acquisition processes in accordance with policies, practices, EEO, OFCCP, HIPPA and other legal requirements.
- Analyze ROI on external job boards, job postings, fairs and events.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline or related field, plus 15 or more years of experience within Human Resources, specializing in Talent Acquisition.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Experience in leading a fast-paced talent acquisition department.
- Experience in bringing Talent Acquisition best practices to improve sourcing and pipelining.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Experience with DoD, aerospace or government contracting preferred.
- Experience working and reporting within an applicant tracking system, SuccessFactors preferred.
Flexible On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three or more days per work week. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Relocation for this position is available.
Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $175,500 - $243,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
- Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
- Subject to business and individual performance, and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in a long-term incentive compensation plan.
