The Director, Talent Acquisition will be a key member of the HR team, partnering very closely with our hiring managers to recruit high quality candidates and understands how to tell the story of Kura Oncology. This role develops and implements strategic approaches to attract, recruit, and hire top talent for Kura Oncology. As a partner and advisor, works collaboratively with other members of HR and with business leaders to develop robust talent acquisition plans by combining in-depth knowledge of recruitment best practices, new innovation and technology, and an understanding of the business and talent landscape.
Essential Job Functions

  • Lead the full-life cycle recruitment with the support of the local HR Partner of open requisitions at Kura Oncology including leading kick off calls, posting jobs, sourcing, scheduling interviews, initial HR phone screens, completing scorecards, leading interview debriefs, completing references and making offers.
  • Owning and driving the hiring process while building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Collaborate with department managers to fully understand hiring needs and ensure those needs are met.
  • Manage the strategy and implementation of building our talent pipeline. Leverages effective sourcing strategies to attract active and passive candidates. Uses employee referral, recruiting boards, social media, and industry & community organizations to build a strong talent pool.
  • Continuously improves the recruitment process to ensure its’ efficient and effective.  Uses data to drive decisions and enhance recruitment strategies. Delivers quarterly dashboards demonstrating progress and effectiveness.
  • Manages the candidate experience, solicits feedback, communicates status to candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain a high level of candidate engagement throughout the entire process through regular communication.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our business to be able to tell the story of Kura Oncology in a compelling way to the market.
  • Create and implement recruitment-based programs, including diversity initiatives, student outreach efforts, college recruiting, manager training opportunities, etc. Represents Kura Oncology at job fairs, conferences and networking events.
  • Leverage broad and deep experience with different talent acquisition methods to manage resources dynamically, efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure roles are approved by the Headcount Committee prior to recruitment.
  • Has a strong understanding of different talent acquisition methods, including in-house and outsourced, including a sophisticated understanding of which tool to use in which situation.
  • High focus on prioritizing candidates being the right fit and not the quickest to fill.

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of In-house talent acquisition experience in a high-growth company
  • Biotech or pharmaceutical experience. Commercial build experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a range of different talent acquisition methods, including in-house and outsourced.
  • Experience with programs to identify and attract distinctive and diverse talent, including targeting under-explored talent pools as well as recognizing and correcting selection practices that may have missed qualified candidates.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Greenhouse ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter
  • UKG experience is a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive, highly organized with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment with changing priorities.
  • This is a hands on role, requiring sourcing candidates and filling requisitions, we require a roll up your sleeves type background to dig into the work.

The base range for a Director, Talent Acquisition is $195,000 - $225,000 per year. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation, job-related skills, experience, work location, and relevant education or training. Kura's compensation package also includes generous benefits, equity, and participation in an annual target bonus.

Kura’s pipeline consists of three investigational drug candidates: ziftomenib, tipifarnib and KO-2806. Ziftomenib is a once-daily, oral drug candidate targeting the menin-KMT2A protein-protein interaction for the treatment of genetically defined AML patients with high unmet need. Ziftomenib is currently enrolling patients in a Phase 2 registration-directed trial (KOMET-001) in NPM1-mutant relapsed or refractory AML. Kura is preparing to initiate multiple Phase 1 trials to evaluate ziftomenib in combination with current standards of care in earlier lines of therapy and across multiple patient populations, including NPM1-mutant and KMT2A-rearranged AML. Tipifarnib, a potent and selective FTI, is currently in a Phase 1/2 trial (KURRENT-HN) in combination with alpelisib for patients with PIK3CA-dependent HNSCC. Kura intends to evaluate KO-2806, a next-generation FTI, in a Phase 1 dose-escalation trial (FIT-001) as a monotherapy and in combination with other targeted therapies in adult patients with advanced solid tumors.
