Common App is currently searching for a Director Talent Development & Acquisition.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports to the Vice President People Operations and leads areas related to talent recruitment and development in a virtual first environment. This is a hands-on position for an individual who wants to apply their experience to positively impact an organization by refining processes and infrastructure. This individual will develop, implement, and manage recruitment processes and staff development strategies to support our culture and drive organizational results. This individual will serve as an HR business partner to department leaders to understand needs and support initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

This role requires:

  • Candidates must live in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field with at least 5 - 8 years of broad experience in talent development and recruitment and leadership in these areas.
  • Experience managing full-cycle sourcing and recruiting;
  • Experience building and managing budgets
  • Hands-on experience with ATSs and affirmative action plan requirements
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, career pathing and succession planning.
  • Solid understanding of sourcing techniques and tools such as internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, career fairs and external recruiters.
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to design and implement full-cycle performance management programs.
  • High energy, agile and adaptable, with strong EQ and relationship-building orientation across the organization; able to influence at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
  • Results oriented with a combination of mental flexibility, creativity, analytical ability and sound judgment.
  • Effective HR leader and individual contributor in a highly collaborative, diverse and virtual environment.
  • Ability to use discretion regarding sensitive/confidential information

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
  • Technical and ed-tech recruiting experience
  • A passion for higher education
