Job Description

NCQA is adding a new Director of Talent Management to its growing organization. The qualified candidate will direct and drive Talent Management and business partnership initiatives. They will lead and oversee Talent Management (performance management, employee relations, investigations, retention, employee communication, recognition & engagement, and DE&I) and work closely with organizational leadership to provide support, coaching and guidance in all related areas. Most importantly, they will serve as a trusted partner and advisor to the leadership team and to staff across the organization.

Primary tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a combination of leadership, organizational assessment, strategic HR thinking, management consulting and counseling to support increased effectiveness and achievement of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Identify, develop, and direct a variety of activities to improve talent management, employee engagement, and the quality of work life for all staff. Measure and report out on employee engagement and work with stakeholders across the organization to implement best practices that lead to a highly engaged workforce.
  • Drive full cycle Performance Management Process (PMP) to ensure the organization has the right talent in the right place at the right time.
  • Ensure employee relations issues are settled effectively (including investigations) and timely, in accordance with relevant legislation and NCQA policies.
  • Provide direction and sponsorship to DEI Council and drive and support DEI initiatives
  • Direct employee communications ensuring alignment with external communications messaging.

The qualified candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive, HR generalist and HR leadership experience with considerable experience in strategic talent management and talent development.
  • Experience with major HR functions including, but not limited to employment, benefits, compensation, compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Experience leading a team of HR professionals, achieving results, and providing support for growth and development.
  • Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Good analytical ability. Ability to interact in a positive manner with employees at all levels of the organization. Strong influencing/persuasion skills. Strong data base, word processing and spreadsheet skills.
