GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The HR Operations/HRIS Director oversees the HR operational activities related to the employee life cycle of new talent. This role is responsible for the employee service center, HR Analytics, payroll, process improvement, employee data management, establishing policy and procedure, developing technological efficiencies, and ensuring compliance. They serve as a liaison to HR staff and management and as a central point of contact for interdepartmental projects and communications related to Human Resources business operations.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Objectives of this Role
- Lead efforts for system enhancements and develop business requirements and the design of HR systems, employee self service, managers self service, workflow management and process automation.
- Responsible for overseeing the processing of company payroll and Time and Attendance. Ensures accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions. Ensures proper governmental reporting and compliance. Prepares statistical reports as needed.
- Partner with stakeholders, both internal and external to Human Resources, to assess and define business requirements and assist with on-going maintenance/upgrades of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Manage HR dashboards and analytics, and provide data driven insights and decision support for business units
- Manage and maintain HR policies and procedures related to the employee lifecycle process including offers, NDA’s, and other employment agreements, relocation/sign-on offers, visa sponsorships, green card applications, etc.; serve as subject matter expert to HR staff and give guidance when needed; Partner with Legal and Internal Audits and provide leadership in coordinating the activities of the HR Ops department to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, policies, regulations, SOX standards, etc.
- Identify optimal solutions that meet the needs of the HR function by recommending process improvement, identifying opportunities for administrative efficiencies, and other alternatives based on specific needs;Â
- Manage and develop HR Ops and payroll personnel
- Manage employee data, employee’s transactional changes, lifecycle processing including onboarding, job and salary changes and off boarding; Establish record keeping cadence for all employee data with periodic audits and purges
- Assess knowledge gaps within HR and identify training opportunities; Develop and lead training initiatives to ensure transparency of HR policies, ensure understanding of compliance standards, and proper use of HR systems. Provide assistance with employee inquiries and troubleshooting to ensure the highest standard of customer service is met.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Skills and Requirements
- Proficiency with SAAS HRIS systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred); strong understanding of data, data models and database structures and system set up
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with all levels of staff and management in a diverse population
- Deep understanding of employee life cycle processes and procedures; ability to interpret and incorporate into practice
- Manage data analytics and reporting capabilities
- Understanding of key HR KPIs and metrics needed to conduct analysis; Proficiency in Excel is required
- Knowledge and understanding of labor and employment laws
Experience / Education
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Experience in HR Operations role, HRIS and experience managing a team
- Minimum of 5 years of experienceÂ
- Minimum of 5 years of experience of management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/WORK CONDITIONS
Working Conditions:Â Work is primarily conducted in the office and food production environment.Â
