Job Description

Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking a Director, Technical Program Management. The Director, Tech Program Management will lead the delivery of products and programs across the entire organization. We are seeking a candidate who shares our passion for delivering the best experience for our donors, volunteers (greyshirts) and clients. This role will require the ability to lead an experienced, cross-disciplinary team to deliver an evolving technology platform and present to leadership on the overall status of key strategic initiatives, overall project risks and articulate recommended mitigation paths. The Director, Tech Program Management will be responsible for performing strategic planning, forecast and budget management for multiple parallel projects related to technology service delivery. 

Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR’s VP, Data and Technology and is based out of TR’s National Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. 

Duties: 

  • Define and drive overall strategy for business enablement technologies 
  • Oversee delivery requirements gathering, delivery plan creation and execution across multiple programs and product portfolios 
  • Develop and foster relationships across departments and programs 
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget 
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential impediments and devise contingency plans 
  • Successfully execute business and technology strategy through strong collaboration and agile leadership 
  • Develop and mature the product management capabilities within Team Rubicon based on a data driven approach 
  • Translate business objectives into execution strategy and product roadmap 
  • Understands effective communication across all levels of the organization with appropriate message, tone and level of impact 
  • Lead the evaluation of new technologies and platforms 

Experience and Background: 

  • 10 - 15 years of experience in a Technology leadership role, managing a portfolio of applications across multiple technical platforms, preferably in the application development and maintenance area 
  • Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle and Project Management Methodologies, specifically Agile/Scrum 
  • Non-profit experience 
  • Experience in non-technical aspects including idea generation, business analysis, and process optimization 
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills 
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to all organizational level 
  • Project Management Professional Certification 
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies 

Special Requirements: 

  • This is a contract-to-hire position with potential for full-time/direct hire; position is based out of TR's National HQ in Los Angeles, CA (relocation expenses not provided)

Pay Range:

  • $120,800 - $143,540 per year
