Director - Technical Program Management

Pinterest is looking for an experienced and motivated Director TPM to play a critical role across all consumer Pinterest products ensuring that we deliver a personalized experience enabling Pinners to search discover their taste shop and ultimately create a life they love. This role is fundamental to Pinterest’s growth in the next years.

What you’ll do:

• Lead grow and manage a team of experienced Technical Program Managers providing leadership and guidance to drive successful program execution.

• Ensure the Core organization T/PgM needs are covered by proactively identifying resource gaps and misaligned priorities. In partnership with the VP of Strategy and Operations secure funding and reprioritize allocation across the team

• Work closely with the Core VP of Engineering and VP of Product to contribute to the product and technology strategy

• Proactively identify high-impact programs drive yearly planning across Core and ensure our priorities incremental opex and infrastructure costs are aligned with the business strategy and approved by our executive team

• Define and manage the operating rhythms for the Core team including execution and business reviews

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure alignment prioritize tasks and make crucial decisions in collaboration with internal partners and stakeholders

• Engage with a stakeholder across engineering product and design at all levels establishing and maintaining trusted connections

Qualifications and Experience

• 15+ years of experience with building and managing a team of Technical Program Managers and leading large-scale or complex technical initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Proven communication and interpersonal skills including relationship building and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary cross-functional team

• Experience managing and mentoring a team of technical program managers

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about technology and business challenges

• Experience working in consumer-facing product development with a focus on search shopping personalization and content

• Experience working with large-scale datasets and leveraging machine learning algorithms for product features

• Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in user experience search personalization and e-commerce.

• Capable of building credibility and fostering connections with senior executives and team members

• Skilled in fostering organizational growth and cultivating a team-oriented atmosphere

• Knowledge of software development processes and best practices
