The Director, Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits & HRIS) is responsible for providing leadership in the implementation, ongoing maintenance and regulatory compliance of total rewards programs and HR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the development of competitive and cost-effective benefits strategies including the analysis, implementation and ongoing maintenance of health, welfare and retirement programs. Coordinate data collection, analysis, preparation and distribution of applicable regulatory filing/posting requirements.
  • Collaborate and lead coordinated identification and analysis of process, system and technology needs related to human capital best practices and data/records management.
  • Lead all aspects of the employee benefits programs. With the support of the HR Team, develop the overall benefits and compensation strategy, then successfully plan, develop, organize, and implement all elements of our benefits plans to support that. This includes plan design, open enrollment, maintenance, problem resolution, and legal compliance.
  • Manage the design and development of compensation strategy and programs to ensure internal equity, competitive salary levels, and regulatory compliance. Maintain Company pay grades, evaluation of job families, and salary data. Provide compensation recommendations, and lead, participate or oversee the engagement of a consultant for compensation studies. For all new hires, promotions or job changes, provide a wage analysis and pay recommendation in a timely manner to support the recruiting process.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of SOX compliance and ensure department practices under functional areas are compliant. Participate in audits.
  • With the support of the HR team, this position will be responsible for all aspects of the HRIS. They will manage directly, or by coordinating with the HR Team, all aspects of employee data from pre-employment to termination. This will include establishing SOPs to ensure employee data is entered and maintained in an effective manner that meets all the business needs. It will require either personally, or through working closely with co-workers to guarantee accuracy and legal compliance. Using the HRIS or other systems, generate reports, data and analysis to support company needs.
  • Lead, manage and mentor Compensation, Benefits and HRIS Manager and HRIS Administrator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. CCP and/or CBP desired.
  • 10+ years progressively responsible work experience administering Compensation, Benefits and HR systems, including 5+ years in a supervisory capacity. Relevant experience in a global manufacturing organization a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of the Human Resources functional processes, compliance requirements and business needs of a mid-sized globally dispersed organization. Familiarity with global pay and benefits practices and HR system requirements for UK and Japan a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams. Ability to achieve desired results while working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with HR Leadership and employees at a variety of levels with integrity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.
  • Working knowledge of basic business and accounting functions including project management and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated initiative/self-motivation, with the ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs.
  • Proficiency using computers and electronics equipment. Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with UltiPro, preferred.

Travel requirements

  • Occasional monthly travel, up to 25%, to Bethesda, MD corporate headquarters or field locations.

Physical Requirements

  • Corporate office setting with 95% desk work, will have sit/stand desk.
