VSA's Digital Practice provides brand and marketing audiences with meaningful content and communications that tackle clients’ business problems. Across multiple forms, media and channels, we unite the art and engineering of content—strategizing, concepting, structuring, creating, adapting, publishing and measuring.

We are looking for a Director, User Experience Strategy to join our team. They will be able to strategically craft ideas and position innovative solutions, possess a high EQ with the ability to “read the room” and navigate conversations with senior executive clients, be responsible for the POV and drive the output of workshops and projects, and bringing a strong perspective.

We define and craft sophisticated, dynamic experiences across multiple channels and devices - mobile, web, physical environments, and extended reality.

Together, we come up with big ideas and define them down to the interaction level with appropriate detail. We advocate content choices based on clear strategy or heuristic principles and can tackle smaller projects or sizable components of large-scale projects depending on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Creating deep understand of client and user and develop experiential frameworks, solutions, and product strategies, as well as digital systems and enablement tools
  • Coordinate and lead VSA strategic efforts on behalf of the client, including industry and competitive analysis, stakeholder and user research, organizational/cultural analysis, brand positioning, and development of metrics for success
  • Utilizing data and analytics to accelerate both B2C and B2B marketing initiatives - ranging from crafting and deploying metrics-based systems that balance numerous digital tactics, to the analysis of disparate consumer and customer data sets for greater insight and more effective experiences
  • Actively identify new business opportunities existing within existing and new clients.
  • Understands how to work iteratively through hypotheses and prototyping, and to guide clients through this way of working, including leading client workshops
  • Lead and guide quantitative and qualitative research efforts, market analysis, and the development of success metrics
  • Develops diagrams, frameworks, and other conceptual models to contextualize data, insights, and strategy
  • Stays at the front of industry trends, standard methodologies, and case studies to proactively improve the knowledge base of our strategy discipline
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of digital strategists
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Client Engagement leads to scope projects accurately and to establish project plans.
  • Work with Practice Leads to continuously evolve our methods.
  • Lead and work with multidisciplinary teams on multiple projects, ensuring that quality is high, objectives are met, and the team is appropriately used.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where everyone has a voice and positive collaboration is achieved.
  • Team management, including performance reviews, formal feedback, and career planning and support
Qualifications
  • 10+ years in a role of developing and delivering strategies, with a background that includes two or more areas such as a digitally-focused program or product development; innovation; brand strategy; integrated marketing; strategic communications; management consulting; and feel free to surprise us with something else
  • Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree a plus
  • Experience in customer research, using analytics, and/or client-side brand management or marketing
  • Able to partner with and empower other teams: design, UX, writing, content strategy, research and development
  • Proven track record in successfully leading multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally and prioritize client and team needs
  • A collaborative teammate who colleagues and clients admire
  • A grounded sense of self that includes outstanding listening skills, confidence, and emotional intelligence
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to drive decisions with fact-based data and/or empirical insight
