Summary

Join an ambitious and highly experienced team of silicon and hyperscale data center systems experts as our Director of Operations. You have the opportunity to help build out the product offering and manufacturing, planning, and operations processes for a groundbreaking company and category of products that revolutionize the performance and scalability of next-generation AI and accelerated computing systems, and solve key infrastructure challenges facing our customers.

We are looking for a talented, motivated Operations leader with a track record of building and executing comprehensive, efficient processes for product development, manufacturing, test, quality, supply/demand management, and logistics in the silicon / hardware systems industry, and who is looking to grow in a fast paced, dynamic startup environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Own the company's overall strategy and execution for technology and business operations across HW, SW, and systems - inbound with manufacturing supply chain, and outbound with customers and ecosystem partners - to support the company's revenue pipeline.

  • Own the planning and commercial interface for all chip development and manufacturing operations, including with foundry, assembly, test, ODMs and other service providers.
  • Own, evolve, and drive product cost models to hit market and customer requirements. Negotiate supply chain and other vendor agreements for maximum impact and benefit to the company.
  • Drive development plans/processes and mobilize internal/external resources within/external to maximize product quality, reliability and yield and hit our targets. Analyze product defectivity and formulate zero-known-defect strategies across our chips and systems sold to customers. Own and implement all RMA, logistics, and qualification/testing procedures related to product delivery and quality.
  • Drive negotiation strategy and closure of operations-related technology transactions and contracts, including supply purchase agreements, MPAs, etc.
  • Comprehensive ownership of all functions and processes related to silicon and system level NPI (new product introduction), production qualification and transfer, inventory and WIP management, supply/demand forecasting and optimization, quality & reliability, yield and productivity improvement, global and domestic regulatory compliance, and hardware/software licensing and distribution. Build the company's execution plan in each discipline, implement processes and tools, manage vendors/partners, formulate KPIs and track dashboards for lean operation and continuous improvement.
  • Drive vendor and partner engagement, selection, and qualification for all of the company's supply chain and supporting systems. Build and expand vendor relationships and influence partners to achieve favorable top-line and bottom-line outcomes.
  • Develop and expand the company's operations management systems, including order entry and fulfillment, demand forecasting, distribution and logistics, customer service and support.
  • Maintain planning and management responsibility for the company's data centers, lab spaces, test sites, and all associated resources and equipment to meet the company's fast growing and evolving needs.
  • Working with the executive staff, help generate and deliver Annual Operating Plans (AOP). Help build the operations management and growth plan for the company. Present operations status at board meetings and to investors/stakeholders. Assist in generating operations models and deliverables in support of the company's long-term roadmap.


Skills/Qualifications

  • Proven leadership and accomplishments in managing operations for a silicon or hardware product line or company, at Director or VP level
  • Proven technical proficiency in chip design, operations, and manufacturing at advanced geometries 
  • Boardroom-ready communication and presentation skills; excellent negotiation skills with vendors.
  • Proficient in MS-Office / Excel, financial / cost modeling in spreadsheets
  • Minimum BS + 15 years relevant industry experience, MSEE+MBA preferred.
  • Proven industry track record of enabling high-volume, revenue generating hardware products
