Job Description

Torch is currently seeking a Directorate Manager with USASMDC management experience to supervise teams within SMDCOE. The manager is required to provide oversight of the teams and interface with government customers. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of employees and include overseeing personnel tasking, schedules, deliverables, budget management, and contract maintenance across multiple projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise 3 teams consisting of 20+ personnel to ensure operational and staff requirements are being develop and delivered on time
  • Manage contractor team operations in coordination with the Division Manager including staffing, CDRLs, contractual scope, and direct interface with the government
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and management to personnel across the teams
  • Provide leadership to employees that demonstrate commitment to corporate initiatives and to the culture of an employee-owned company
  • Assist the Division Manager in out-year strategic planning and management
  • Administer reviews of personnel during merit cycles, bonus pools and performance reviews
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships and to support performance excellence

Job Requirements

The candidate should demonstrate experience in conducting personnel tasking, schedules, deliverables, budget management, and opportunity development. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with high-level staff, supporting senior-level civilian and military personnel.

  • Possess a minimum bachelor's degree and minimum 12 years' experience
  • A minimum 12 months serving as a task lead is required, within USASMDC is preferred
  • Familiarity with USASMDC operations, battle rhythms, objectives, and business operations
  • Possess relationships with USASMDC military and government civilian personnel is preferred
  • Demonstrate experience providing briefings, presentations, and written reports for senior level military and government civilian personnel
  • Budget management and planning experience with ability to work with program control and support staff
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, management, and peers
  • Demonstrated self-starter, takes initiative, can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Position may require travel
  • Possess a DOD Secret level clearance, and the ability to gain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
