Summary of Position:
The Director/Senior Director, Portfolio and Program Management will be responsible for providing tactical and strategic leadership to the Program Core teams and serves as a partner to the Core Team lead in the generation and execution of the strategic vision of the program. You will be responsible for leading day-to-day activities of the program teams, with the goals of driving cross-functional coordination and communication and supporting the development of comprehensive risk identification & mitigation strategies to ensure the program goals are successfully executed within agreed budgets and timelines. In addition, this role might also be involved, leading or participating in other high priority initiatives that require cross-functional coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as the operational hub on the cross-functional program teams in clinical development
- Manages cross functional teams on priority activities to ensure alignment and execution and is responsible for planning activities and aligning with broader program
- Drives strategy planning, opportunity assessment, cross functional development/project plans and establishes risks and mitigations for programs
- Works closely with Program Lead to ensure alignment across program teams and with senior leadership
- Develops and supervises the implementation of program development plans and timelines, ensuring corporate goals are aligned and deviations are communicated
- Identify program issues or resource gaps and facilitate resolution
- Communicate program information and support development of program presentations to senior leadership, functional heads, and other key stakeholders as appropriate
- Drive planning for key drug development stage-gate decision points
- Monitors key performance indicators with Program Lead, highlighting progress towards goals and risk-mitigation plans to senior leadership
- Drive alignment, collaboration, accountability, and goal achievement within Program Core teams
- Facilitate decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving with people at all levels of the organization to accomplish shared program goals
- Manages and is responsible for scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, facilitating meetings that focus on clear decisions and actions, and writing timely minutes
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in the life or physical sciences
- 10+ years of experience on cross-functional teams in drug development, including 5+ years as a Program Manager or equivalent; oncology experience is preferred
- Must be able to support multiple project teams simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a changing environment
- Thorough understanding of the drug development pipeline including Research, Preclinical, Clinical, Manufacturing, Commercial and Regulatory.
- A proven record of implementing Program Management tools, methodologies, practices, and infrastructure, as related to the biopharmaceutical Industry.
- Must be well organized and have strong attention to detail
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and communicate clearly in written and verbal exchanges
- Requires experience with Microsoft Office, as well as familiarity with collaboration platforms (e.g. MS Teams, Smartsheet)
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and be able to work as collaboratively a team member in a fast-paced, matrix environment

The expected annual salary range for this full-time position is $185,000 - $295,000, plus eligibility for bonus, benefits, and equity incentives. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, business needs, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
