Job Summary: The Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure the organization's ability to recover from various types of disruptions. This role involves coordinating with various departments, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that all recovery strategies are up-to-date and effective.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical functions and systems.
  • Coordinate with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment of disaster recovery strategies.
  • Lead disaster recovery testing and simulation exercises to validate the effectiveness of recovery plans.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to disaster recovery.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for staff on disaster recovery procedures.
  • Manage disaster recovery projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Monitor and report on the status of disaster recovery readiness and improvements.
  • Respond to actual disaster events and coordinate recovery efforts to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Maintain and update the comprehensive DR/BC Plans for each Service Area in accordance with the Agreement.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and tabletop exercises as required in accordance with the Agreement.
  • Perform duties as defined in the DR/BC Plan when a disaster has been declared.
  • Perform IT Life Cycle and ITSM Services as required to execute Service Requests assigned through the Service Request management and escalation process.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Continuity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in disaster recovery planning and management.
  • Strong knowledge of disaster recovery principles, methodologies, and best practices.
