Discord Community Lead

You will go beyond moderation by shaping community culture, driving meaningful interactions, and implementing systems that support sustainable growth. Working in a fully remote and globally distributed setting, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the community aligns with broader business goals. • Define, implement, and maintain community guidelines, tone, and culture to ensure a positive and consistent environment
• Monitor community health metrics, proactively identifying risks such as disengagement, toxicity, or spam, and taking corrective actions
• Design and execute engagement initiatives such as events, AMAs, challenges, and content drops to drive meaningful participation
• Convert passive users into active contributors through creative engagement strategies
• Recruit, onboard, and manage a distributed team of moderators, ensuring clear workflows and consistent rule enforcement
• Handle conflicts, escalations, and sensitive situations with sound judgment, balancing fairness and community trust
• Track, analyze, and report on key performance indicators, providing actionable insights to internal stakeholders

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience managing online communities, particularly on Discord, with large and active user bases
• Proven experience leading and coordinating moderator teams across different time zones
• Strong understanding of community dynamics, engagement strategies, and behavioral patterns
• Advanced knowledge of Discord features, including roles, permissions, bots, and automation tools
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and messaging effectively
• High emotional intelligence and strong conflict resolution capabilities
• Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to improve community performance
• Familiarity with collaboration and project management tools such as Notion or Slack
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
