The Developer Enablement team is part of a larger foundational services organization building horizonal capabilities that enable Siemens development teams to build the cloud enabled connected products of the future. We are focused on building a common developer experience for all Siemens developers that decreases toil and allows our developers to focus on delivering customer value. We are building automated developer workflows that reduce complexity of building and operating cloud and edge software using innovative technologies and community best practices that bake in security and best practices.

We are looking for a Distinguished Engineer with deep domain knowledge in this space who has "done this before" and can come alongside our cross-functional teams to help refine our approach and help our teams deliver

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the with architecture, product management, UX and engineering leadership to deliver world class developer experience
  • Build a community of leaders across Siemens to align on standards and technical implementations
  • Incorporate community best practices and ensure that Siemens technology strategies are aligned with industry trends
  • Identify areas for engineering practice improvement in Developer Enablement and help teams improve their delivery and quality
  • Ensure our developer experience is highly available and can support the "always on" 24/7/365 requirements of high-quality SaaS software

Qualifications:

  • Has successfully led the developer experience of a large-scale enterprise company
  • Deep domain knowledge in all things related to developer productivity
  • Working knowledge of software defined networking, service discovery and core cloud engineering
  • Experience working with open source communities and proven thought leadership in the developer productivity space
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience

Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday

The salary range for this position is $177,000 to $318,600 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training. In addition, this position is eligible for time off in accordance with Company policies, including paid sick leave, paid parental leave, PTO (for non-exempt employees) or non-accrued flexible vacation (for exempt employees).
