Job Description

The Cloud Security CTO team is responsible for driving the technical direction of the Cloud Security product portfolio for Cisco. The products include Umbrella DNS security, the Cisco SASE Architecture including Secure Internet Gateway, Remote Access as a service, ZTNA. This team is also responsible for working with the SDWAN portfolio to deliver SSWAN-aaS towards a full Secure Access Service Edge solution. This team works closely with the engineering and product teams within Cloud Security as well as with the Meraki and Viptela teams within Cisco to deliver a world class solution.
In this role, the candidate will be working as part of the CTO team on technology to deliver robust, scalable, cloud native networking and security solutions at a global scale.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build out scalable architectures that enable our networking and security products to be deployed at scale.
- Work on new product ideas, drive the architecture and product definition of these ideas into product concepts and all the way through to production services.
- Collaborate in and contribute to design discussions and code/design reviews.
- Work across multiple teams to ensure a clean integration of these technologies into production.
- Provide Technical leadership and mentoring to the engineering community within SBG.
- Help protect Cisco's IPR by filing patents around new technology concepts.
Requirements:
• 15+ years in the software industry working to drive consensus across business units
• Experience navigating Open Source foundations and projects
• Crisp and clear communication skills: The ability to talk to executives as well as engineers
• Experience in the cyber security area developing products
• Cloud architecture and deployment experience on AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
• Hand on experience in languages such as C, C++, golang, Python, and Rust
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field
