Position Overview

Autodesk Tandem is a web based digital twin environment for buildings and related infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced 3D graphics programmer to lead our web browser graphics engine development effort. You will be part of a small product team of smart and highly motivated engineers building world-class cloud software applications and services. You will work in a global team and collaborate with local and remote colleagues from various disciplines like business, engineering, operations, support etc. You will work with latest technologies in a flexible environment. Responsibilities

• Add incremental features to our existing WebGL2 and three.js based engine
• Develop new renderer based on the upcoming WebGPU technology. The goal will be to achieve significant gains in performance compared to the existing engine
• Improve performance of very large models using techniques such as spatial indexing, mesh consolidation, level of detail, partial loading/streaming, etc.
• Partner with product managers, software architects, UX, and other stakeholders as needed to iteratively turn high level requirements into product enhancements that are delivered to customers incrementally and continually

Minimum Qualifications

• BS in computer science, related technology field, or engineering
• You have 10 years of hands-on experience with 3D computer graphics programming
• Ability to operate effectively in a distributed team

The Ideal Candidate

• Has strong 3D computer graphics experience. As the main point of contact about the viewing and graphics engine, they will be expected to come up with innovative solutions to rendering, navigation, and geometry problems involving large building models
• Has a strong desire and ability to deliver results. They are able to succeed and consistently reach the highest standards in a dynamic, agile environment with changing priorities. They are able to manage multiple tasks with direction or feedback from stakeholders and team members
• Is a fast learner and keen to work with the lastest tools and technologies. They are a perpetual learner and often find themselves ideating about new and improved ways of doing things and are confident to share their ideas with the rest of the engineering team

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $187,200 and $302,720. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
