This role can be based near our Waltham, MA, New London, CT or Lake Worth, FL office or can be fully remote. We are unable to provide sponsorship for work authorization for this role. 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a Distributor Relations Specialist who will be responsible for helping to support our brands in the different distributor related processes and help facilitate solutions for any distributor related inquiries. You will need to understand how the different brands interact with distributors, maintain those partner relationships and act as an intermediary between the distributor and our internal teams.

Our organization supports our distributor partners through value generating programs, providing insights to help close deals, promote compliance and enable cost savings for our mutual clients.  Our distributor partners support Buyers Edge Platform by providing us invoice data we use to bill rebates, negotiate pricing, and provide our clients with valuable insights into their foodservice purchases.  

What you'll be doing with us:

  • By understanding how we process distributor purchase data, from beginning to end, you will help escalate distributor reporting issues to the correct brands and sales teams.
  • Help to maintain distributor reporting requirements, contact information, and other information in Salesforce. Facilitating Salesforce projects as it relates to distributor records when needed.
  • Provide visibility into data acquisition escalations and upward communication of bottlenecks, opportunities, progress and resolution of those escalations.
  • Advise and direct the different brands on data acquisition from distributors based on distributor criteria and reporting requirements. Work to find alternative data acquisition strategy when direct reporting is not available.
  • Have some understanding of deviations offered by the Platform and communicate that to our distributor partners for their understanding.
  • Work with our distributor partners to see resolution on billback disputes and facilitate those with our partners to ensure payment.
  • Review rebate recapture amounts and ensure accuracy from both the distributor and manufacturer in order to remit payment from the platform to our distributor partners.
  • Facilitate preferred distributor deviation requests, update customer tiers in Salesforce, and review blank tier reports to accurately ensure tier designation. Follow up with distributors to ensure customers are ready to utilize deviations.
  • Help to facilitate distributor onboarding including the initial onboarding calls, facilitate & communicate deviations, and audit distributor inventory files for accuracy. Make sure Data Acquisition and distributor are connected on reporting and escalating to sales when needed.

What you bring:

  • College degree in relevant field preferred
  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office tools; most importantly Excel, Teams, & Outlook.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com
  • Preferred experience with distribution or food industry
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through ability
  • Relationship management skills
  • Strong time management, ability to set and meet deadlines
  • High aptitude for working with dynamic information systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Readiness to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Willingness to learn new databases & systems.
  • Ability to organize and deliver information in an understandable manner
  • Strong communication skills
