Job Summary

The Diversity and Wellbeing Specialist designs and executes Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and total Wellbeing (physical, financial, emotional and social) strategies, including planning and implementing programs, activities and processes within the organization.

This role has direct impact on ECMC Group's enterprise-level goals related to DEI and Wellbeing. Certain areas of specialty could be assigned to this role, requiring a level of ownership and leadership in the work (e.g., supporting employee groups, leading Wellbeing efforts and programming, or supporting intercultural development through a variety of tools and experiences). This role will be responsible for ensuring alignment and integration of strategic plans and programming with ECMC Group's overall DEI vision and goals to further advance diversity, inclusion, belonging and wellbeing across the organization.

This role has a direct impact on ECMC Group's enterprise-level goals related to DEI and Wellbeing with primary emphasis on Employee Network Groups (ENGs) and ensuring alignment and integration of ENG strategic plans and programming with ECMC Group's overall DEI vision and goals to further advance diversity, inclusion, belonging and wellbeing across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Influences the design and implementation of programs and initiatives that contribute to enterprise DEI and Wellbeing goals and enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, including managing logistics, communication, promotional efforts, and budget. Drives increased engagement and participation in virtual and in-person programming/activities.
  • Conducts internal and external research to understand best practices, trends and preferences; provides recommendations based on changes to micro/macro trends and/or employee needs and preferences.
  • Coordinates planning efforts, navigates challenging discussions, and constructively manages multiple viewpoints while working in spaces that require tact and sensitivity.
  • Provides consistent support to employees and leaders across the organization who lead DEI and Wellbeing efforts by advocating for the needs and interest of the leaders; planning and facilitating meetings/events; providing support during transitions/onboarding; training and developing individuals to perform at their best in sensitive spaces.
  • Collects, tracks, analyzes, and monitors goals and performance indicators; drives efforts for continuous improvement.
  • Develops and/or curates clear and concise content for a variety of communication platforms (e.g., monthly newsletter and intranet pages), including external award submissions; ensuring content is relevant, up-to-date, and accessible; partners closely with key stakeholders to ensure content is relevant and purposeful.
  • Advances and/or supports intercultural development efforts through the use of various intercultural tools; delivers individual and team assessment results; assists with/co-facilitates quarterly workshops.
  • Builds strong working relationships across the organization. Provides customer service and builds rapport by thoughtfully responding to employee questions and feedback, expressing empathy and building trust. Manages the DEI and/or Wellbeing inbox.
  • Serves as main point of contact with third party service providers to ensure clear communication and seamless execution of programs and services.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business or related field
  • 4+ years of diversity, equity and inclusion experience contributing to and executing DEI programming as a primary job function.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), including advanced skills in Word and PowerPoint for developing polished presentations and materials and Excel for basic analytics.
  • Experience facilitating complex discussions, with the ability to manage individual/group dynamics and influence without authority.
  • Experience leading efforts that support an enterprise strategy; represent the leadership team and broader company with high levels of professionalism and executive presence.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage sensitive information appropriately and confidentially.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to problem solve and work independently on multiple projects in a time sensitive environment.
  • Experience planning and executing virtual and in-person events.
  • Experience managing and leading large-scale projects.
  • Ability to travel based on business need, up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified in the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), as an IDI Qualified Administrator with 1 year of experience as an IDI Qualified Administrator administering IDI individual and group debriefs and proficiency in interpreting IDI group and individual results; if not certified, willing to become certified.
  • Certified in the Intercultural Conflict Style Inventory (ICS); if not certified, willing to become certified.
  • Experience leading an Employee Network/Resource Group.
  • Experience supporting broader DEI and Wellbeing programs such as strategic planning, goal setting, and budget management.
  • Experience providing services or programs to support an individual's total Wellbeing.
  • Work experience in an HR department.
  • Work experience in a non-profit organization.
