Job Description

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead will play a key role the management of organization-wide DEI strategies, programs and initiatives. The DEI Lead will have direct responsibility for Associate Resource Networks, DEI communication and metrics, and will lead and participate in DEI related initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring functional knowledge of and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion and must demonstrate the ability to operate effectively across a range of management levels, styles, and cultures. Strong relationship management experience - particularly collaborating and influencing results oriented.

Essential Duties• Assist with the collection, analysis, quantification, and benchmarking of diversity data, trends, and other related information, including the creation of reports.• Develop and lead inclusion and diversity initiatives that enable Werner Enterprises to progress on DEI goals.• Participate in Human Resources and organizational initiatives as a culture champion, ensuring that the principles and values of DEI permeate programs, policies, and processes.• Interact with and influence all levels of leadership including mid-level management, ensuring comprehension and responsibility of diversity and inclusion initiatives as well as encourage development and application.• Positively influence the corporate reputation and brand through communications including executive talking points, internal/external marketing materials and formal/informal presentations.• Participate in community partnerships that support diversity and inclusion initiatives.• Collaborate with internal teams to respond to D&I client and market surveys.• Identify and track metrics to demonstrate success and provide quarterly/annual reporting.• Explores diversity issues by reviewing publications, benchmarking state-of-the art thinking, forming focus groups; conducting surveys, requesting internal and external input from those in a position to contribute and measuring diversity tension.

Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications or related degree preferred, or related experience in Human Resources, communications, marketing and/or organizational change

Skills:• Strong Microsoft Office skills• Exceptional writing, communication, storytelling, and project management skills• Experience in developing communications plans to achieve business objectives

Abilities:• Ability to manage relationships and balance customer, project, organization, and team needs to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes• Excellent consultative skills and abilities to communicate and collaborate effectively across varied stakeholder audiences, including senior organizational leaders• Ability to maximize the impact of DEI programs to demonstrate benefits to all levels of the organization, programs, and compliance efforts• Experience working cross functionally and holding self and others throughout the matrix accountable for deliverables without a formal reporting structure• Experience working independently with minimal supervision and leading multiple projects simultaneously involving various groups and locations
