Role Summary
To work effectively in a team-oriented work environment, provide financial leadership to the team and customer support to the organization. Ability to complete assignments on time. Interact with people of all cultures and levels of Management. Provide internal management with necessary reports and perform financial statement reviews to ensure that reports are accurate and reasonable and are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month end process to ensure timely close and accurate financial data
  • Prepare monthly reports for Auburn Hills
  • Complete month-end reporting package for Electronics - Flash and OPS report
  • Review engineering project tracking and engineering time tracking systems - Monitor engineering rates
  • Prepare and review monthly Engineering Financial Statements with Engineering Manager and Director
  • Work with departments to complete business plan and quarterly forecast
  • Prepare business plan and quarterly HFM reports and presentation for executive management
  • Review yearly risk management, year-end audit package, tax packages, R&D tax credits, and property taxes prepared by finance team
  • Readiness and willingness to engage in setting up new engineering locations as part of a growing industry
  • Review and approve for purchase requisitions
  • Ensure minimum controls procedures are followed by the finance team
  • Monthly Capital reporting
  • Takes the Lead on conducting internal and external auditing procedures; and ensures Management Controls are in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404
  • Provide support to divisions for all new GAAP disclosures and Tax modifications
  • Lead, manage and mentor finance team with effective goals and communications
  • Promote and seek excellence in all aspects of business
  • Comply with the designated ISO / TS 16949 responsibilities, Health & Safety rules and practices, Magna Electronics policies, procedures, and practices

Key Qualifications/Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Proficient with spreadsheet and accounting software packages.
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation preferred, but not required.
  • Ten years of professional experience with plant, public or corporate accounting function within the automotive industry.

Knowledge
  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Excel, PowerPoint.
