A Brief Summary of This Position:

This Individual Contributor position reports to and works closely with the Regional Safety Manager to enable division strategy and objective success in driving continuous improvement of EHS practices at all business units. This position will be responsible for assisting in reporting, managing and analyzing the company's current EHS data, performance metrics, policies, and procedures to meet the overall EHS strategy. Works directly with the Regional Manager, Safety & Environmental to translate strategies into roadmaps and actions ensuring resolution with the utmost effectiveness and efficiency while supporting multiple sites.

Essential Functions:
  • This position reports to the Regional Safety Manager for our Coatings Division and has no direct or indirect reports
  • This role requires up to 15% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays
  • Support the division and underlying sites in achieving EHS targets and objectives
  • Support development, maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts of the management system to facilitate EHS strategic initiatives
  • Support the preparation of reports and dashboards of key EHS performance indicators to track leading and lagging indicators and supporting EHS information
  • Manage the incident alert and other data sharing activities to ensure effective and timely information dissemination
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to deliver quality instructional content for site use in the area of EHS
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure programs and policies are effective and up to date in the area of EHS
  • Recognize and be able to integrate principle Continuous Improvement (Lean/CI) concepts into EHS and vice-versa


Other Important Details about the Role:
  • Perform basic management system troubleshooting and basic safety management system set up and user configuration for supported sites
  • Monitor EHS task assignment with the goal of reducing individual site administrative burden through the continuous improvement process
  • Ensure prompt scheduling of root-cause analysis reports from incident investigations
  • Support the development and maintaining of risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and opportunities for safety improvements for jobs/tasks
  • Conduct on site audits/inspections
  • Provide training and onboarding to site safety resources to strengthen EHS competencies


Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • Preferred Bachelor's with 5+ years of relevant experience or Associates Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have a broad, technical background with strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Demonstrated environmental, health and safety management success in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on program implementation and training
  • The ability to work in a cooperative manner and communicate effectively in a positive manner with all levels of the organization
  • The ability to read, interpret and develop safety policies, procedures, training materials and standard operating instructions and procedural manuals
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results


Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
  • Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline or suitable work experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in galvanizing or a related industry
  • Demonstrated experience with compliance programs
  • Experience with EH&S or business management software systems such as Intelex
  • Experience using Lean methodology in a manufacturing environment
