Job Description

  • Serve as a point-of-contact for engineering document storage, reference, and management
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers and HZI customers to provide and manage the information needed for development and execution of proposals and projects
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for processing and storing documents
  • Manage drawing requests and drawing number assignments
  • Provide training and support to HZI internal and external key stakeholders on the use of the HZIโ€™s drawing management system
  • Promote the execution of proposals and projects per HZI work processes, standards, and best practices
  • Develop, manage, and support document control projects that improve both legacy and new HZI document control systems
  • Ensure that the HZI NAM proposals and projects are compliant with company guidelines for records and information management
  • Perform minor drawing modifications and updates as needed using CAD
  • Coach and lead others in the proper use of HZI document management practices
  • Ability to create, manage, and improve multiple workflow streams on multiple project document management and distribution platforms.
  • Ability to assess, maintain and, if required, improve efficiency of HZI document control system
  • Ability and willingness to learn and teach uniform document control, archiving, security and storage best practices to a wide range of stake holders
  • Effective communication skills: both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company ยท
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate sound recommendations
  • A can-do attitude toward issue resolution and quality of process.

Qualifications

  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office 365 software and discipline specific software applications (Ex, Adobe Acrobat Pro)
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with PIRS document management system
  • A minimum of one (1) year of project document control experience
  • Experience managing document transmittals
  • Experience with drawing naming conventions and red-lining processes
  • Experience interacting with internal and external customers, utilizing verbal and written communication
  • Preferred - Associate degree in drafting & design from an accredited institution or advanced technical school training in drafting
  • Preferred - A minimum of one (1) year of experience with 3D modeling software, either Plant 3D (P3D), SolidWorks, and/or Autodesk

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to talk or hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
