MMSC Post Delivery Sustainment Support Lead

Position Description:

The Sustainment Support Lead manages a small team of logistics support personnel responsible for coordinating and providing all logistics and shore support for the MMSC ships during post-delivery. The general responsibilities of the Sustainment Support Lead include:

· Coordinating all shore support services, to include tugs and pilots to accomplish ship movements in and out of port, pier services, security, line handlers, emergency response, etc.

· Developing and implementing a food management plan to include identifying requirements, procurement, delivery, onload, and invoicing

· Monitoring PM crew sanitation compliance with regard to food storage and meal preparation.

· Implementing a fuel procurement plan to include interfacing with the PM Crew Engineer to define requirements, fuel procurement, delivery, onload, and invoicing 

· Coordinating procurement of consumables and repair parts as required using available resources to include Navy Supply System, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), LM and PMS 525L allowances

· Coordinating ammo onload/offload support as required and ensuring sufficient resources are provided

· Overseeing PMS 525 responsibilities as addressed in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with NAVSTA Mayport

· Overseeing PMS 525 responsibilities as addressed in the Interservice Support Agreement (ISSA) with the Fleet Logistics Center (FLC)

· Coordinating with LM on the repair and return of any Depot Level Repairable (DLR) items as required, utilizing the BOA

· Providing NAVSUP Weapons System Support (WSS) data on repair parts procured outside the Navy Supply System in order to create a demand history

· Developing and implementing a HAZMAT management plan to include procurement and disposal

· Developing and implementing a MMSC shipboard inventory management plan to ensure all materials and parts are accounted for and replaced as required

· Managing any shore-based material storage provided by PMS 525D

· Providing mentorship and training in the areas of logistics and ship support services to the Royal Saudi Naval Force (RSNF) shore support team.

· Coordinating a “Borrow-Payback” process with PMS 525 Logistics, PMS 525 Production and Lockheed Martin.

· Coordinating with PMS 525 Logistics to develop a subset of the COSMAL allowance to be maintained in Mayport to support Post Delivery requirements

· Evaluating the APL/COSAL during Post Delivery and providing recommended changes to PLS 525 Logistics based on parts allowance and usage.

· Performing other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship with Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain/maintain such clearance.
  • 10+ years of experience in a supply role in the US Navy
  • 5+ years of logistics support experience managing procurement of consumables, parts, food, fuel, inventory management and other ship husbandry efforts
  • 5+ years of experience supervising a team of logistics/supply support personnel
  • 3+ years of experience as LCSRON or LST logistics support team
  • Experience as a Navy Charge Card holder
  • Experience managing a budget and developing reports/metrics
  • Experience with inventory management
  • Demonstrated project management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding environment
  • Proven leadership ability

Desired Qualifications:

· Associates or Bachelors Degree

· Experience working as an expeditor within a fleet logistics team

· Training experience on LCS Class ships

· Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

· Experience with MAXIMO IT Tool

· Experience with Foreign Military Sales
