Drafting Designer

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Create models, drawings, and bills of materials for mechanical and electrical systems using AutoCAD & Inventor (or similar).
• Utilize ERP system (SAP or similar) to create part numbers, item descriptions, and bill of materials.
• Collaborate with Engineers and the Production Team to create and review drawings. 
• Communicate with team members regarding project scope and project status.
• Check drawings against standards and project requirements
• Complies with all Sensia and local procedures applicable to the job function including; Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety, and Environmental
• Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or Company

Previous Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

• Education: Associate’s degree in Drafting
• Experience: Three to five years experience working in AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks or Creo or Solid Edge, and Microsoft Office
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical modeling, electrical modeling, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), and manufacturing processes
• Attention to detail & the ability to self-check work is a must
• Problem-solving experience
• Excellent team building, leadership, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
• An ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality.
• Self-driven with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks
• Can function independently and in a team setting
• Strong decision-making skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Understanding of ERP software systems. Preferably SAP.
