What You Will Be Doing

As a DRAM System Diagnostics Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications that supports Micron's industry leading quality standards. You will be part of the DRAM Systems Compatibility Group (DSCG), a team of engineers responsible for validating Micron DRAM modules through industry groundbreaking system testing. We are on the forefront of technology with many opportunities to keep ahead of industry standards. The software we develop enables other Micron groups globally, ranging from early module design validation to full scale production quality screening.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Design and develop innovative DRAM diagnostic software for internal groups
  • Provide ongoing support of software tools used by internal groups
  • Maintain a solid understanding of Micron products and customer platforms
  • Continually acquire new skills and knowledge (software/hardware)
  • Ability to read and understand product datasheets
  • Configure, characterize, and debug motherboard level hardware and peripherals
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to continually improve diagnostic software

Education & Experience Necessary for Success

  • BS/MS CS, CE or EE
  • 4+ years of computer engineering or software engineering experience
  • A clear understanding of motherboards, processors, and other motherboard components
  • Experience with computer architecture
  • Highly effective collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Excellent analytical, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with multifaceted demands
  • C, C++, Python programming languages

Experience preferred

  • Experience with decoding system failure events to physical DRAM locations
  • Understanding of how DRAM memory interacts with systems and end-customer solutions
  • Linux experience including some kernel interaction
  • Low level programming experience

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$104,000.00 - $203,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
